His tuning was mentioned in another thread that is now closed and I wanted to make a comment about him.
I dynod once at his shop and buy methanol when I need it. I also buy c-16 most of the time from him when I need it. Other than that I have had no other business dealings with him and we dont owe each other anything. I always pick Dans brain when I see him and he has more tuning knowledge than anyone else I know. My car runs lower 9s and is tuned by myself. Yet I still learn SOMETHING from him every time I talk to him....enough to know that he has a much better grasp on tuning than I ever could. If I ever was going to have a car tuned and pay someone to do it, Dan would be at the top of the list. He has told me "i dont know" before when he could have bullshit me so that tells me he is pretty honest.
Anyway, my 2 cents about Dan andhis tuning knowledge

Tuners in this country with any reputation, including guys down at Titan, John Shepherd, AMS, the guys from AEM, Vinny Ten, and countless others will all attest to Dan's knowledge/tuning capabilities. He puts a lot of science behind the things he does, and is probably one of the few people around here that actually has a background in engineering. (Dan has a degree from GA Tech) to back up the things he does. I've seen him tune ridiculously fast cars, from turbo Vipers, to full blown NSX race cars, to his own 8sec Supra. People fly him out of the country to tune cars regularly, so I think it's pretty safe to say that Dan is top of the food chain when it comes to tuning.

^^ In STONE'S defense there is nothing wrong w/ being a wallet-racer. I used to wrench - now I don't have to. LOL. When I did it, it was out of neccessity and I definitely love having the OPTION to get greasy or not.

BG has a good team over there IMO. Brandon is a good guy - knows a lot of shit about a lot of different cars, that's actually HARD (to master diff makes and models). I haven't had anything tuned up there but I will soon - just talked to Dan about that a coupla weeks ago. And I've been up there when he was tuning some sick shit. My .02.

Dan is definitely a good guy and a good tuner. He is extremely knowledgable and when talking to him he never makes you feel like an idiot when you ask a question. I've had nothing but good run ins with Dan and will continue to direct everyone I know to him and his shop. Brandon also, (guy that works with him), is very knowledgable and a stand up guy.

I have a lot of experience with modified rotarys. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that his tune is not what caught the bumper on fire. It is a common issue for any modified rotary, and some stock ones as well. Rotarys need a lot of fuel, and on decel, they dump a lot of fuel into an extremely hot exhaust.

As for Dan's tunes, I've only seen one tune from him that didn't seem to work 100% perfectly, and I've seen several from him, and that car has definitely been a basket case since before he improved it. He is an excellent tuner IMO.

Dan doesnt need to be defended in tuning IMO, ive always said he was a great tuner. If he doesnt know something he doesnt bullshit you he will say "i dont know" and then if its something major he will do countless hours of research to learn more about the subject.

Hes very methodical and complex even though people may not know that about him. Most people think hes just standoffish and not social, but he likes to focus and get the job done and not fuck around. Customers should appreciate that.

As far as Btstones claim, i was there, and not to brag but im pretty confident in my honda abilities. There was DEFINITELY a MECHANICAL VTEC problem with you car man. You had OIL PRESSURE, AEM was swtiching into VTEC and the solenoid had power. The Pins were NOT locking for whatever reason. Top Speed had the same problem before you came to us.

Youve always claimed that it was a bad tune when we only had the car for 1 hour and at that point after we did all the diagnostics that we discussed on the phone before you ever came in, i told you it was mechanical. You were charged 1 hour (which was also previously discussed) and the car was let go back into your possesion.

almost a year later i saw you at Mainstream and the car was being tuned by turbo dave. It apparently hit VTEC then, and you were visibly upset with me for some reason even though i was just the front office guy.

In person you are cool and you are not an idiot. You know the deal and im sure you know enough about cars to know that Dan was not at fault for anything. If it was some mystical problem that fixed itself, hey stranger things have happened.

Last year I used Dan to tune one of the cars that our shop had done some work to(MR2). He did a good job on it as I drove the car 2.5 hours back to Macon under different conditions and the tune up felt nice. I learned from him also. If you are in business there are going to be haters and that is just the way it is.

Dan is very good at what hes done. I've seen first hands what can be done in his very capable hands from a friend of mine that brought first his sc300 to them and now his supra. and every time I have talked to him I always walked away from the conversation with more knowledge than i went into it with.
