Just wondering if commerce would be worth me driving two hours for since i have never been? I usually go to steele, is commerce just a good? Whats the comparison between the two and price to race.

(kason23) yea man i love steele also i just have never been to another 1/4 mile track is commerce a rough track for a lowered car like mine?
I have been once and was not impressed.. I could not get any traction but At Silver Dollar I got good traction and its a way nicer track imo. Just gotta remember in GA anything faster then 14's you will need a helmet. While Hell I guess they dont give a shit in Alabama lol

I did not know that you had to have a helment i guess i would have been screwed and had to just watch.
i was at commerce a week or 2 ago and was there at 630. sat in tech line for 35 minutes. i managed to get 2 runs by 905pm and had to leave.
its pretty busy and traction isnt that great. especially on an underpowered car like mine. never been to any other tracks so i cant really compare.
I got 13 runs in last night with 35 min. rest...Nobody there... Had a great time... Never rained.. You should of went... Managed to hit into the 13s with street tires and at 40-50% throttle

i like goin to commerce to watch cause alot of cars go and its the nicest looking track, but its like a skating rink, sdr is my fav for traction, commerce seems to onlu be fast for the wrinkle wall slick guys, i spun well past the 1/8 mile marker there on street tires!

Oh so Commerce does get traction for slicks? Everyone made it seem like it is impossible to get traction there on any tire.Originally Posted by onebadgt

I will probly hit it up soon just cause i have never been. I just seen a pinks video and it looked like a realy nice track from what i could tell. It may not hook but it will still be fun to watch as long as the turnout is good i guess.
ya man i went with some guys on slicks and they were cutting 1.5's no problemOriginally Posted by SmackedInATL

They mainly prep the track for slicks. You can't take a street tire and try and make it work on a prep'd track....Alot of people dont understand this. Its like racing in the street on a unprepped rd the slower car is kinda at and advantage being it will hook faster then the car that makes alot of power.
Ksniperfox you where up there on the wrong night. I saw your car. They had the big ORSCA race that weekend that's why it suck'd not getting to get alot of pass's in.
I use to take my 04 Gt with a Mach 1 engine conversion cold air intake 03 cobra mass air meter intake spacer king cobra clutch 4.30 gear and tires from the factory and run 12.80's all night long.
The track works you just have to know how to adjust to it.
If you got some drag radials or et street's you will be happy
