I'll have to agree with Anthony, to a degree.
"Street" cars don't really require any real great degree of "skill" to drive down the drag strip. Low HP cars only need to be pointed in the right direction and to get off the line. The only "skill" needed is in getting it off the line as quick as possible. In LOW hp cars, it's not that big a deal.
Now, when you start getting into cars with real HP, that's a different ball game. Not just anyone can launch a car down the strip correctly there. Suspension has to be done right, tires have to be right, car has to be tuned right, everything pretty much has to be right or you could have a bad day quick.
Too many people are trying to make more out of it than it really is.
