do a few tests see what the condition of the motor is...then boost :D

42 PSI FTW!!!!

do a compression test. if the numbers are good, an youj car doesnt smoke or burn oil, then boost it.

ditto. Mileage isn't necessarily bad.

if it is a strong motor and the test work out. boost it.

Yeah, boost it..But make sure you have a spare motor for backup or at least another beater car.

so how much do yall think i would b pushing on safe boost? and this is a daily driver

§treet_§peed
11-12-2006, 06:11 PM
on what? stock period? few bolt ons and internals? just on stock everything?

§treet_§peed
11-12-2006, 06:11 PM
if your doing it on stock i would say like 10-12 psi...

brwloco
11-12-2006, 06:45 PM
all of them, i dont care

-S Double C-
11-12-2006, 07:12 PM
i wouldnt go over 10 personally on a stock motor.

§treet_§peed
11-12-2006, 09:16 PM
well you could push 10-12 on a stock GSR...couple of internals and others a little tuning some where's aorund 18...fully built out the ass and you could make it hold 30 psi...it is possible because GSR are better built to withstand boost...i know it is possible because i have seen a couple of Ls with and without vtec converison hold 30 psi and make around or at 600 whp but it's a honda so torque was shitty

§treet_§peed
11-12-2006, 09:17 PM
and for a Honda motor to hold tthat much boost and hp it has to be properly built and tuned...no ghetto shit

if its a stock DD, boost it with a tial 38mm wastegate with an 0.6 spring inside, would be at 8psi. better be safe than sorry!!

§treet_§peed
11-12-2006, 09:47 PM
i still say 42 PSI ftw...

:goodjob: lol yea ok 42:goodjob:

I say boost it, put like a block guard on it, and get a setup where u can put down like 300-350WHP, that would be a good amount of power for a DD car

fuck that shit. just weld the wastegate shut. get MaD P0WaH

damn how long did that motor last? lol

BigBadBoy
11-23-2006, 01:51 AM
boost it. you can make 300HP reliable for a DD. its not abt PSI but HP :)

§treet_§peed
11-23-2006, 08:05 AM
well its been like that for a while now...Mike aka Mr.2jzkidd ir Vteckidd knows more about it

§treet_§peed
11-23-2006, 08:06 AM
and of course you won't drive it around all the time at 30 psi more like around 14 or 16 it's just tuned to be able to hold 30 when you want it..but very short amount of time lol..only like a couple of runs at the track then turn it back down

brwloco
11-23-2006, 09:45 AM
^^ thats wut i most likely will end up doing

§treet_§peed
11-23-2006, 08:18 PM
and btw as far as i know it's been almost a year and it's still doing good

2.0 under pressure
12-21-2006, 10:48 PM
Peter's made like 475 whp, bone stock block, like 5 dyno runs and a couple at the track and was pulled when the built block was ready. Never blew up to my knowledge either.

2.0 under pressure

But don't expect it to last very long, even with a great tune and low boost, the ringlands will crush over a rather short period of time.

Do not put a POS Block Gaurd in your motor. I was warned and i put one in anyway. I was a inexperienced dumbass! It distorted the shaped of the cylinder wall and restricted the coolant flow in the head. My compression sucks and the car runs 20 degrees hotter in the head than it should. Because it runs hot i blew a head gasket. You can leave the block alone for a low power set up. You can post the block for a little more power. You can sleeve the block and never worry about it again. NO Block Gaurd!!
