You cannot compare ANY generation of an M3 to any generation of a G35? Why? They're not the same. G35 is introduced as a version of the NORMAL Skyline.

The correct comparison between a regular 3 series vs a G35. An M series should be compare to the GT-R line of the Nissan. That's the correct comparison.

I don't know why many people confused the G35 as the top Skyline. No, it's just a regular V35 Skyline. The top Skyline Model is the Skyline GT-R.

If you talk about comparing a 10yrs old M3 with a G35, it's like comparing a TT Supra to the G35. They're not even in the same class. Try comparing that to the R32, R33, and R34. Heck, try compare the M3 to the Z32 over here.

M3 vs 300zx. That's even a close comparison.

I own a G35. It's a great car overall. But I also love to own an E46 M3. Would I own an E46 (3 series up to 2006 - coupe)? No, because they're not comparible to my G. I've done a lot of personal Test Driving before I purchase the G, even it's merely automatic. The interior on the E46 are just plain and ugly. Maintenance cost is a bitch.

People should get these points straight. I love BMW, and I also love Infiniti.

The new BMW 3 series would do a huge whooping on the old G35s. Then again, it's not the same comparison. It'd be fair to compare the up comming G35s vs the BMW.

Read what kenny posted Paul, Turner comes out, wins and kicks ass for a couple races a series so BMW's as a whole get penalized with restricter plates and weight penalties to try and "even" the field.

Also Turner doesnt run a full season in SWC... thus the best and most money team doesnt run all races, you can beat to hell that Turner cars are FAR superior to the other ones in that series, Turner does this in about 2 or 3 other series and people hate them for it.

The Mazda is definately fast though in SWC!

SIMILAR WEIGHT ISN'T SAME WEIGHT. you make it sound like no other form of racing has restrictions... even drag racing has restrictions + tech inspections... every form of racing does that makes the playing field even and make it a driver sport not a $$$ sport. they have cars w/ 1.8L motors competing in this against BMW w/ 3.0L motors.

That last fact may be true, but since when does a Lexus, Infinity, or even an Audi stack up to a BMW or Merc in the luxury category? Lexus has been the best selling luxury brand in America the past 6 years going on 7. The IS 350 is the fastest car in class until the 335 sedan with turbos debuted. The GS 400 was the fastest automatic sedan in the world until an AMG E55 came out.
Lexus is the 4th best selling luxury brand in the world behind BMW/Audi/Benz.

Infiniti and Acura have had much less success so you can't really bunch all Japanese luxury brands together.

Lexus has the worlds first luxury hybrids in the RX 400h, GS 450h and 2007 LS 600h.

Not sure how you came with the conclusion, Lexus is not true luxury.

Z06 is an all out sports car, there is now BMW equivilent. M6, a 4 seater, would come closest but its HUGE in comparison and over 800lbs heavier. V-10 with 507hp vs V-8 with 505hp.....

Clearly you just have BIAS against the car, no EXPERIENCE with them.

Kiddo, I said that. I am man enough and knowledgeable to know stock 540s and 330s and the new 335 and your E36 M3 is no joke handling stock.

Kudos to you and BMW, they make some great handling sedans.

You said a Dinan 5 beat a stock GS 400, so I brought up my modded GS comparison to show that a modded Lexus can be no joke as well.

You guys talk about straihgt-line racing, why not run a stock STi on the highway vs. a stock M3? Yeah, anybdoyu willa dmit that the STi will rape it off the line, but it's AWD< so be hoenst, it does have ana dvantage tehre. The gearing sucks for highway sue, thoguh, double overdrives, vs. the close ratio 5 speed the M3 uses, and yes, STOCK E36 M3's have slightly pulled stock STi's to the 155 mph limiter on the M3. Modded, thast a whole nother story. The STi becomes alot more of a monster with basic turbo mods.

Whats done to Miranda's car? I'm curious, as I don't erally know. I'd bet it could be a decent race. I know one thign, whenm I was at RA a few weeks ago, there were 2 STi's tehre, one bone stock, getting pulled by E36 M3's, and one was modded, but my god was that guy eating it up!

Yes, that is b/c the USDM M3 got the weak 240hp motor while Europe got the real 319hp one. The E36 M3 then became available in a 4 door sedan and an AUTOMATIC. Yes, an automatic M3.
With the E46, we got the same engine, the high revving 333hp I-6....
There is a rare E35 Lightweight that was sold.

FYI, I love both the E36 and E46 M3......the new one will be a V-8....M3 is adding more and more weight....

Europe also got a M3 CSL (lightweight)..(I really really would love to import this car)

Your wrong. Stock to stock, an E36 M3 'usually' will pull on a stock STi, not froma dig, liek I said, but once you get up tehre, all the way to the 155 mpgh limiter on the M3. Do you not read paul?
