They probably do not have enough laoners, because they have so many people having service problems with their cars.
Lexus does give out RX's, ES's, IS's and the occasional GS and SC. I have had my car in once to get a rear spoiler installed and received a GS430 as a loaner.
Yes, Lexus loans RX/ES/IS 250.....though they do have a few "special" loaners for "special" customers.....I had the RX 400h before......:)

for the record: i don't own a BMW but drive them a lot. and hard.
actually....Braman in Miami is the largest BMW dealer. BMWNA doesn't give cars to dealers to use as loaner cars unlike some of other named companies. All of that is determined if something like a loaner is valuable on the wholesale side. But since when does what you get as a "courtesy loaner" have to do with being luxurious. I drive a 7 series, x5, x3, 3's, 5's, and m's at least once a week, whereas the Lexus, Infiniti, Mercs, and other "high line" automobiles not so often. I personally feel that BMW does make certian things more enjoyable in each class compared to their competitors. Yet, trying to make all of you who have never even driven a high end bmw, or hell most any bmw hard to realize that it truly is a more enjoyable, quality ride.
And in other news about wholesale...Guess who is number 1 at the Atlanta Auto Auction, West Palm Auto Auction, Nade, and, Riverside Auto Auction (4 of the top 5 selling wholesale auction in the WORLD). Yes thats right BMW. :D
There is about 7 different factors in determing the rankings. If you want them i'll tell you, but you probably still will not understand and want to argue.
ok.. thank you for letting me know that you can't come up with one valid fact why bmw is better besides your opinion. and please do NOT confuse performance with luxury.
bmw is still luxury, however with a focus on performance. while mercesdes gears more toward luxury and class.. then you move on to lexus. they might not be the fastest on the road, but they are luxurious and more importantly RELIABLE... if im spending more money, its gonna be on a car that will last, not one that will make me seem like im richer. thanks.

but Luxury is much more than lexus, bmw and mercesdes... true luxury is Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin... etc etc...

I did not want to come back but for the FUCKING GOOGLE BULLSHIT COMMENT i had to.
And reading is not your friend either, I NEVER said they have zero problems... get over yourself
Hey numb nuts....you getting tired of the google comments, then stop saying this bullshit about reading is not your friend. You sound like a damn broken record.
I do NOT need google or any other fucking search engine to debate with you about BMWs. So STFU with your google comments over and over and over again. It is getting very old and is fucking lame.
I guess reading is not your friend genius. How many people besides me have owned the shit out of you and your BMW's BS you've been spouting?
When something doesn't go your way, you pout and say that it's biased. When it does, even if it's from the SAME SOURCE, you swear on it like it was a Bible. Make up your damn mind and quit flip flopping.
[quote]E36 does not have electrical problems. Whoever said that is a fucking moron, BMW has NEVER had wiring issues. Maybe technology that is beyond what a customer knows what to do(iDrive) but no ELECTRICAL problems. Sure sensors may go bad from time to time but that is not a wiring issue. I will list my E36 known flaws here. Just so everyone knows that I know it is not perfect.
You're a damn joke. Go over to your butt buddies on bimmerforums and have someone with at least some bit of sense come over and take over this debate for you because you sir are sucking at it. Badly!
If you have a problem with what a review says, go fight with the damn reviewer. Why are you trying to shoot the messanger? Does it or does it not say on Consumer Reports that BMW's have shitty electrical systems???? Go look it up genius BMW know-it-all. I told you I'd be willing to bet you there were a few black dots on your venerable "ultimate driving machine" and THERE IS. Why argue with me or anyone else that is merely putting up links to PROVE our point? We didn't write the damn article. I'm sure since you're so good at google, you can google them and write them a nice nasty email telling them how "biased" and how "wrong" they are when they test 1000's of cars and you have driven 1...... .....Go ahead and tell them how you are good at google so YOU have to be better judge of what a car does and doesn't do because google and your vast 1 car experience trumps their YEARS of doing this for a living....... ......Go right ahead. Knock yourself out.
-BMW E36 runs hot, it kills radiator necks, every 80K needs a radiator.
My radiator neck hasn't busted. I've got 117k on my car and atleast 30k of those have been boosted......Japanese 1, your BMW 0.
-E36 Window Regulators, It has auto-up and down, auto-up will break because of shitty design on the sliders
My windows go up and down, no problems. Japanese 2, your BMW 0.
-Non M cars have been known to tear rear subframes if they are track driven with stiff suspension(fixed with ///M reinforcement kit)
Lexus "non-luxury" editions don't break frames at the track. I have full suspension package on my car making it 10X as stiff as stock. Still no frame tears. Driven on track, mountains, and every damn day. Japanese 3, your BMW still 0.
-Premature failure of rear shock mounts(80 dollar aftermarket ones last forever)
Then maybe super "luxury" BMW shouldn't of skimped on that part, huh?? Japanese 4, your BMW 0.
-Early E36 vehicles uses plastic impellers on water pump, plastic eventually wears and no water will be pumped, replace with new part number with "composite" water pump
Again, maybe super duper "luxury" BMW shoulda thought of that. Japanese 5, your BMW 0.
-Premature rear tire wear due to factory camber settings(a good thing)
-5th gear indent stick on cold morning(non issue unless you are really anal)
-Rear Shock failure, the E36 rear shocks are too long for the vehicle and cause premature failure
Is like a resounding theme with you aint it???
You are fighting a loosing battle. You know why? Because YOUR statements are your own worst enemy. Had you said something more subtle or humble, we wouldn't be owning your ass all over the place. As it stands, you came in all cocky and talking shit and have been sent back to the minors for further pieces of humble pie. Even your only ally here has turned out to be much more level headed than you.
Some BMW's are cool as shit. M's are the top of their tier in a lot of ways, but that "gap" is quickly shrinking with the Japanese and even some German cars closing the gap. If not now, soon, there will be testers that will finally get off the bandwagon and crown a new middleweight better than the M's. Until then, enjoy your little time in the limelight. Nothing lasts forever......except maybe a Japanese car...... :taun:

The only good way to own a BMW is to lease it. Warranty all the way through ownership, service agreement for most of it (includes everything but tires, and yes EVERYTHING ie:brakes, wipers, oil, all fluids, filters, etc etc). Well except for the 02 and 03 745's they have a 6yr 100k warranty and a 3 year 36,000 mile service agreement.

Are you sure it won't need a V16 with a 11 spd tranny to compete with the M cars?
Wannabe copycats are everywhere. It's a like a annoying chihuahua nipping at the ankles.
Why don't they concentrate on setting the standard, not copying it.
Lexus makes reliable (and very boring, isolated-from-driving) cars.
Not enough reason for me to buy one.

And they always will be. But what none of the bmw guys seem to understand is that not everyone wants a super sporty car. Some people like the extra comfort and longevity that can't be provided by a high-performance car.
To the BMW guys: This does not mean I don't like BMWs, I just don't understand why you think they are the best cars in the world; that is a purely subjective matter. Some people would say a Tundra is the best, or a Ferrari, it's just a matter of interests. In the end it doesn't matter what any person says about a car, the only thing that means anything is what you yourself like. Stop trying to convert everyone to BMW, it wont work, and why would you want it to? One of the reasons I love my car is because of the rarity, would you really love your car as much if everyone on the road drove the same damn thing? Doubt it.

What do you drive? And meh, the E28's are alright. I don't think I'd buy another unless I could pony up $4k+for a mint perfect one. If maintenence has been neglected, omfg they'll break you, lol. They aren't like a 3 series, where the maintenence is at least minimal. Figure every 80k, front end needs to be completely rebuilt, same with front and rear suspension, every 60k whole cooling system needs a rebuild, crazy thigns can come out of left field if the car wasn't maintained or hacked together previous. My 533i for example. Previous owner chopped the cats out, and didn't even put the O2 sensor back!!! I mean, it ran fine without it, I even got 33 mpg with that brick on the highway, but ya know..... Stereo has to be 100% rewired to put anything aftermarket it, cause the old stock stuff used a common ground setup, god damn, I could go on and on, lol.
Buy a BMW - stick to E30's, E34's, and if you wanna just daily maybe a E36 if you can afford it, or a track car, an M. I can't afford to maintain any other BMW, those are the most relaiable for a regular odl working person. OTOH, an M5 of any body style would pwn, again, if I could afford the maintenence. The M5 was made for those who could afford them, and those who could afford them ONLY. The S38 inline 6 is a $15k+ rebuild top to bottom, with just stock parts.

Original E30 M3's are getting rarer and rarer, if you wnat somethjign fast, you can build an E30 M3 'look-alike' from a regular E30 just as cheaply. Then swap wtfever motor you want in there. Couldn't have said it better myself. Although, other than a ton of E36's, and a efw E46's, I've enver actuall;y driven a Bangle turd heap. Yes, Mr. Bangle was quite involved with the design of the E36, he just wasn't head of design yet. I think thats party why that car falls apart pre-maturely around the drivetrain.

I saw an e30 m3 abandoned on the side 85S one morning going to school and I almost cried. I hope the owner got it out of there ok.

If a e30 M3 had chrome wheels on it, then it deserved to be broken down.

Damn, really? I can understand that though.
I'm kinda a purist, in some ways, depenmds on the car. I definitely try to discourage people from removing S14's from E30 M3's and replacing them with S52's. Ferrari has a very storied history. Most owners prefer a stock Ferrari as to them, that is the "pure" way to own it. Just maintain, don't touch, the factory knows best.
That is why many guys that are into modding buy a Lambo or Porsche b/c modding a Ferrari many times is frowned upon by the "establishment".
Lambo and Porsche owners mod like crazy and are much more open armed to those to modify.

INteresting. I'd love to own either an old 911 someday, or the new, oh god, what is it, the Caymen is it called? I think thats it. That car pwns. Only in a coupe of course.

Bangle is the designer, he has nothing to do with the engineering aspect.
While BMWs do use tons of plastic parts (hell the new 335 has plastic front FENDERS, lol), the reason for it is it keeps weight distribution at or near 50/50 for optimal balance.
Little known fact...the head designer for BMW MURDERED his son, clearly he lost his job when he went to jail. HE designed the 1980s and influenced the mid 1990s BMWs....
If he hadn't done that, Bangle would probably not be the head of design. (I also love the older BMW looks, I cannot quite get the new ones design)

OH damn. Now THAt isn't in the 3 Series Enthusiasts companion now, is it, lmfoa? Where can I find more info on this?
And I know Bangle doens't ahve anything to do with the engineering side of thigns, I was just joking.

And they always will be. But what none of the bmw guys seem to understand is that not everyone wants a super sporty car. Some people like the extra comfort and longevity that can't be provided by a high-performance car
Great post!!!! Even with mods a Lexus will just be hard pressed to match the steering and overall feel of a BMW. I've driven tons of both brands and you can make a Lexus handle even or better than a BMW but the "feel" is just not there, IMO.
I even swapped out my steering ECU in my old GS 400 for the "L-tuned" one, (it was Euro spec) and while heavier it was not the same as a 540.

I tried googling it before but could not find nothing. I read it in an issue of "EVO" and also in an issue of "EuroTuner" (I think that is the name of it).

You are the best example of misinformed.
I'll bite, since you wanted to just gloss over my question to you. Guess you couldn't answer them.
How many BMW's, Lexus, MB, Infiniti, or Acura's have YOU personally owned and driven?
Let me guess......
You are solely google and consumer reports-informed,
Really? I was a mechanic for 6 yrs and I've owned atleast 1 of every make, i.e. Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, MB, etc., being thrown around here, except for a BMW....although I've driven many, many before and not just around the block with a salesman either.
Unlike YOU, I've worked on BMW, MB, Nissan, Infiniti, Lexus, etc.
So, anytime you wanna match experience levels on cars with me, let's go for it. I posted REAL links to reviews done by someone else. If you wanna whine about it, you too can sit in the corner and rub one off with DinanM3. Be my guest. Don't shoot the messanger if you don't like the message.
besides not getting head at the BMW dealer (sure it happens a lot at Lexus though) and CR are the most retardedly biased SOBs I've ever seen.
Don't make me repeat myself.
Repeat yourself? What are you now, Mr. All knowing authority on reviews???
How many cars have you even owned in your life yourself?
I was just at the shop this afternoon. Totally unprovoked or even mentioned, a previous 540 owner who used to swear his 540 was THE shit said and I quote, "...BMW's are nice to look at, but I certainly wouldn't call them RELIABLE...." He OWNS a shop, is the HEAD mechanic, and RACES cars. As long as I've known him he's owned domestics and imports, changing them out all the damn time. Everything from Hummers to Dodge Dually to S2000 to BMW to Lexus. So I think he probably would be a good one to ask about BMW, and he said exactly what I quoted above.
Again, yall wanna defend a guy who's a pompous jerk about coming into a thread that had NOTHING to do with BMW and turning into one.....be my guest. That's just par for the course for you guys.

Umm, yeah. Go kill yourself ok, buddy? I drive an old-ass BMW, and I'll admit I'm not the greatest driver in the world, but at least I'll take my car to the fucking track to learn how to drive properly. Any idiot can straight-line drag race or do highway pulls. And PLEASE find me a 300k mile car thats more reliable than an E30, please? At 300k, if taken car of, all the elctricals wills till wrk, motor and tranny should still be original, etc. I know of plenty of good lookign E30's with 300k+ on them, and there is one guy in chicago with over 400k on his, he replaced the head and did 2 clutch jobs. Thats it. So GTFO with your bullshit.

Wow. I think we got over this like, 5 pages ago, but here we go again.
My car has about 140k on it, I bought it with a half-started motor swap, from an eta (early E30) to an i motor (late E30). And no, 90% of my car looks to be original. AFAIK, most of my friends higher-mielage BMW's have most everything original, except for the normal wear items, breaks, suspension, bushings, etc. Why don't YOU stop talking out of your ass, ok? I've stopped bitching, and fighting here. Why the fuck are you starting shit again? You obviously know nothing about BMW's, or you'd know that a 300k E30 can and will retian a good majority of OEM parts still.
And you say half? Half what? In your post, you said ALL you BMW fucks go kill yoursleves, as quoted here:
all you bmw fucks go kill your self
God, I thought that I had finally brought an end to this BS...

Well it is kind of like house training a puppy...the puppy has to shit on the floor a couple times before it will get the point across that hey I am not supposed to shit on the floor. So the puppy must have its nose rubbed in shit many times.
Well you are going to have beat these people in the head with that statement over and over again before they get the point...
