I have a Sony Ericsson W600i with phone insurance

if i were to call cingular to report that I lost the phone, they will send me a new phone.

Now, Will they disable my old phone?

what I want to do is get new phones and sell them off to make extra cash.
let me know if you have any first hand experience doing this and whether this works or not.

Thankx

make sure that the w600i is listed as the phone on your insurance. no, they will not disconnect it. but when you call, they will try to call it to see if someone picks up. so cut it off when you report it. i'd call 611 using another cingular phone, and report it stolen(which will cut it off). then call the warrenty number that 611 states to get the ball rolling. also, be prepared to fork out $50 for the new phone

yes, he should have a sims card. they will kill the sims card, when he reports it stolen. so they will issue a new phone(for $50) and a sims card(free, you get 2 a year).

^^ exactly what he said..... as long as whoeva you sell to isn't stupid enough to call them and try to activate it (instead of just puttin the sim card in)... everything should be str8
