Alright guys, I'm finally going to post up some pics on the progress of the R33. For those of you who remember the car when I first bought it, it was pretty banged up. Lots of dents, chipping paint, quite a few problems. Here's pics of it when I first bought it:

And here's pics of it now. Its in the progress of having the full GT-R conversion done. It's a GTS-T so it has a completely different body from the gtr. the GTR has wider fenders, longer front bumper, black housing headlights, wider rear 1/4's and side skirts. Also a taller and wider spoiler.

The pics of the wheels don't do it justice. The paint is Black Sparkle pearl and when I'm finished the lip will be repolished chrome. I haven't cleared the wheels yet so I don't have any pics of them with the lip untaped. But I will post some probably monday after they get cleared. The car will be painted pearl white with frost blue clearcoat and should be done by next weekend.

I dont get how people are gonna say this is the poormans Skyline. Brian has worked his ass off for this skyline, a good condition R33GTs-t can go for $19,000-$21,000 . Alot of people on here couldnt afford that. I know it aint the GTR, but Brian is happy with it and thats all that matters

The car was pretty rough when I first bought it. Needed some interior pieces as well. I have bride seats ordered, new steering wheel and replacement oem carpet. Once the body gets done I will start building the motor. I'm keeping the rb25 in it. I'm only looking to get maybe 450 rwhp out of it when I'm done, I don't want anything extreme as far as power wise

Looks nothing like a skyline, regardless of what you do to it, it will still be a civic, take it to the nopi show or any other car show for that matter and see 250 of the exact same cars. Or buy the skyline because I love these cars, have a rhd, authentic skyline. Not some 240 with a conversion, can turn around resell it for almost 10g's more than I paid for it because it was damaged and live it up being the attention whore that I am. Sounds good :goodjob: Should be painted by this upcoming weekend. The gtr front is completely done with the exception of the N1 lip kit, which is still being prepped. But the car is almost done so ya, I'm down for meeting up and hanging out :cheers:

Go back to jacking off while watching intial D... I'm not racing this car in the mountains or on autocross, I didn't buy it to race, if I wanted a fast car I could've bought a mkiv supra, or even a old mr2 and dumped the extra cash into making it fast. This car was bought to make it a show car, it will be trailered across the us to be displayed at shows. Its not a daily driver, its not a 'race or drift car' it will rarely be driven on the road. So you can't grasp the concept that I wanted to spend money on a car that won't be driven, oh well. I couldn't really give two shits what you think. And as far as I'm concerned you're just another jealous ricer.. And there really isn't much you can say that will change my perspective of you. well lets see, besides the gts is rwd and the gtr is awd, the gtst is an rb25 single turbo the gtr is rb26 TT. The gtr is wider and longer, the gtr has black housing headlights and the gtst has chrome, the gtr has a taller spoiler, the gtr has adjustable coilovers, the gtr has an extra gear, the gtr guages go to 320 kilos while the gts goes to 180. The advantage of a show gt is I can go staggered wheels as opposed to the gtr being awd has to have the same offset all the way around. For what I want to do with the car I just couldn't see spending an extra 15g's for a true gtr when I can take a gts and make it look the way I want it to look.

and it's the R33 gt-r, I personally like the R33's better than R34's

Ya that about sums it up, $20g's isnt really that much money... Plus look at some of the classic cars, those guys spend $40grand+ restoring them never to be driven. Not everyone wants a car to be raced. I know plenty of people with show cars that aren't driven. If you can't grasp that concept then oh well, I'm tired of argueing my point with you. I spend MY money on stuff that I want, which includes a car that I don't want to drive, that will sit in a garage probably 350 days of the year and be trailered to a show and sit at te show 15 days a year. And will be cranked maybe once or twice a week. Don't like it, oh well. Go out buy a skyline of your own, drive it to work, to the mall, to the mountains whatever, let grandma too-blind open the door to her crown vic and put a nice ding in the side of your car, or whatever. Doesn't matter to me, that fact still remains that I bought a car that I will never drive, that I spent 20g's+ on, and another 10g's+ on work thats being done, and building the engine for about 450whp even though I will never drive/race the car... I know PLENTY of people who take fastback mustangs and make them look like gt500s or fieros and turn them into lambo kit cars, there are always shelby replicas for sale for 10x more than I could ever sell this r33 for. My car can cry all it wants. I'm not one of those guys who believes that cars have a soul of its own or whatever. Its just metal and urethane with lots of wiring and vacuum lines. And I can do whatever I want to my car, I paid for it therefore I do what I want to it. If you don't agree with it then oh well, like I said go buy one of your own and do what you wish with it.

But that takes me back to the original problem, a fwd d16 vs rwd rb25, lhd vs rhd, skyline vs civic, and if you haven't noticed, 50% of nopi is civic, ther's only 9 registered skylines this year and I know damn well I'm not bringing home a trophy from Nopi. - RHD conversion
- RWD conversion

everything has been tried and tested into a Civic and Integra, so anything can be done. The aftermarket is cheaper and easier to access now that the internet makes it possible.

The only difference in the 2 is the gtst is chrome housing and the gtr is black housing. The GTR's sit about 3/4 of an inch further out than the gtst but all that it is a spacer

It is coming along pretty good. I remember that car and to see where it is now is quite a long road. I'm in the process of building both our R33GTR's right now so I know better than probably anyone else here how long it takes to get parts and certain things done for the cars if you want the right stuff. Don't worry about every ragging you about making it look like a GTR, how many people put Silvia badges on 240's, or do motor swaps on lesser Civics. Its no different, make the car something you can enjoy driving because 99% of the car people won't ever know until you open the hood that its not a GTR. If you really want it to look like a GTR make sure you use the same size front and rear tires, its a dead give away other wise. Good luck with it.

well lets see, besides the gts is rwd and the gtr is awd, the gtst is an rb25 single turbo the gtr is rb26 TT. The gtr is wider and longer, the gtr has black housing headlights and the gtst has chrome, the gtr has a taller spoiler, the gtr has adjustable coilovers, the gtr has an extra gear, the gtr guages go to 320 kilos while the gts goes to 180. The advantage of a show gt is I can go staggered wheels as opposed to the gtr being awd has to have the same offset all the way around. For what I want to do with the car I just couldn't see spending an extra 15g's for a true gtr when I can take a gts and make it look the way I want it to look.

and it's the R33 gt-r, I personally like the R33's better than R34's

This is just the base coat. I'm not trying to rush the car and mess it up because of a retarded car show lol. Next week when it gets the mid coat pearl and clear coat sprayed, it will be in a booth. Since this is just the base coat I'm not too worried about it. Thanks man, I appriecate the compliment :) I ran it a few times at import showdown, best I could do was a 13.8 at 102mph so I guess it times to do alittle more work. I want to be in the low 13's high 12's by spring :)

Import Showdown, she ran great with no problems. Well I did turn the boost up to run dragonfly but it started to lean out and I managed to run a 14.9 >.< lol, its still pretty stock, just a front mount and exhaust. Expect to see better times in spring. Oh and this is my last update on the car's progress ;) So don't expect to see any new pics after this. Project Top Secret begins now lol.

I will say this though, the car will be at Lethal Injection Tuning in Marietta getting the work done so if anyone wants to check up on the progress just stop by. The shop owner is working with me on the project and our goal is right around the 1,000 whp mark. I know I previously stated that I was leaving the rb25 in and shooting for 450hp but I have to retract that statement. Make sure to keep an eye for the car around March-April :goodjob:

Well you know the RB motors from '93 and up have a form of variable valve timing, not as strong as vtec. Well maybe, kind of feels like the vtec from a D16 or something lol. Maybe like a little 25 shot of ni-trax. Don't know what rpm it's SUPPOSE to hit, but mine has a worn out timing belt and everything is way out of tune and it doesn't hit until 6,500 rpms

While I have the thread bumped, I'll go ahead and let you guys know that Project GT-R33 is pretty much on hold, I blew the motor in the SRT4 which was my daily driver, so now I'm having to drive the skyline until it gets fixed. With that being said there really isn't any point in keeping certain things a secret since I don't know when they will get done. I'll have some pics in a few weeks, last shipment of goodies until next year arrives in about 2 weeks so I'll post pics when they arrive, might squeeze a few teasers later today of the work thats already been done to the car since last time you guys saw it. Gotta cool down first, I'm still in rampage postal mode wanting to find out who fucked with my car and burn their house down... I'll cool down when I sober up

Welp, the biggest problem with a car that has been imported is waiting for the parts to get in once they are ordered. 3 months later, guess what showed up:

I don't know how long it'll be before the side skirts and GT-R spoiler come in but atleast I can go ahead and have it painted once the 1/4's are installed. And just paint the side skirts and spoiler seperate when they come in. As of right now, we're looking at about 3 weeks down time to get these quarters installed since I can't really work on it as much right now. Well now that it is getting warm enough to start working on the car again (since I don't have a shop and have to do it all outside lol) I'm working on getting the wider GTR quarter panels installed. Which means I have to cut the old quarter panels off.

And of course with every big project, you run into minor bumps in the road. Luckily I knew these side windows would mostly likely need to be replaced since the seal is actually part of the window. So I already have the replacements ordered and they should be here early next week. Of course I wasn't intentionally trying to break the window. And we all know how these things just 'happen'
