i just got my turbo today. i noticed that the oil drain appears to be on top of the turbo when its bolted to the manifold. can i safely remove the 4 bolts on the compessor housing and rotate it to the correct position?

don't need to remove the bolts, just loosen them and rotate everything to where it needs to be and re-tighten. clocking has nothing to do with the balance of the turbo, you are merely rotating the housings around the center section.

sounds like it was ment to be a top mount, but yeah loosen those bolts and clock that bitch. good luck i destroyed 5 wrenches rebuilding my t28.
