you going to have to drill into the hood.. if u dotn want to do it. let a body shop do it. Its not too hard tho, but u seem like u shouldnt do it yourself.

aftermarket latches suck.. ive heard and seen 5 cf hoods fly up on ppls windshield. 12$ will save u a new hood/windshield.

invest in some good ones like the key lock one if anything and you'll be fine

Find a spot on the upper radiator support to put them, there may be existing holes somewhere...install the pin putting some sort of paint/nailpolish on the top then set the hood down so they mark the bottom of the hood. Drill the hole at those marks (or maybe a hair forward) then install the little plate on top :)

yea those are little less noticeable, but they will rust over time. if u want or can get some cheap flat black paint and spray them black before u installt hem so they wotn rust. I had to put soem on the protege after my swap

My opinion on hood pins are that they are only needed on off name brands of hoods like procarpartsonline.com hoods or some other hood you buy from a not-so-famous company. I have one from VIS and see no need for hood pins. The latch is very strong and doesn't seem like it will break. Since he is having problems keeping his hood closed period then hood pins may be a good idea. Just my :2cents: though.

i depends on which one's you get i guess. i tried to paint mine black and the paint wouldn't stick so i left them chrome. they haven't rusted yet and i've had them for 3-4 years now.

the key type are definately the way to go...i'm very happy with mine.

listen to the tips so far on the install. one trick is going to be that you'll have to bend them so they will be perpendicular w/ the hood. therefore, you'll probably have to bend them forward a little to work the contour of the hood and so the latch will work properly.

also, apply some masking tape all over and around the area you'll be drilling out. this helps to keep the glass from cracking/chipping and spiderwebbing.
