So I just saw a commercial the other day that Cingular has PTT(push to talk) just like Nextel/Sprint and Verizon...

Any thoughts on this? I personally think that it is awesome but think they need to have better looking phones that are PTT capable.

Push To Talk is an additional 10 dollars a month. If it is like Verizon and Nextel though it will not be compatable with any other phones than Cingular

it will only be compatible with cingular and AT&T but since it just came out there are only 2 phones that are compatible with the PTT service so far. Don't know if they are going to make it work for all the phones somehow...

My thoughts....? My thoughts remind me of Conyers from '99-02 when Nextels were popular. Every redneck, white trash kid had one to go with their giant trucks, wife beater shirts, camo hats/pants combo, and mouth full of chew/dip.

I can hear them now as they sit inside the Applebees:

"...*bleee-ip* Yeah good buddy, go on. Yeah, yeah, 10-4. I'll come out to the barn later and we'll go huntin', but first I'm going to try and hunt me some hotties here at the Applebees. Carry on... *bleep-ip*....*spits chew into bottle*..."

I guess that means this: NO, I fucking hate those things and hope that they rot. The fucking "bleep" noise is so damn annoying that it makes me want to open up and start shooting people. (as you can tell, I have issues with Nextels...)

yea Ive had one for a few years now, can you say PowerTel? but for reals, I never understood the "I want everyone to hear my conversation" mentality, speakerphone is useful at times but there is a "Speaker: off" feature that some people seem to think is optional on their phone, or it costs more if you use it.

19.99 for unlimited but it also uses up part of you monthly minutes.... i dont recommend it and my dad works for cingular and we were talking about it the other day and if you dont have unlimited it uses up a certain amount of min for every beep...

I was just online on cingular's website and it costs like 9.99 for unlimited well at least if I had a compatible phone it would cost that much for me, and I have the cheapest plan that cingular offers...I dunno
