Dude, what is wrong with you? lol You cannot argue that a manual DOES IN FACT offer more control transmission wise than an automatic. Why argue that? You can argue your personal preference all you want, but that is a fact. Sure, maybe a newer semi-auto box offers the same amount of control, but the driver has more overall control in a manual than an auto. It's not about winning some internet fight, don't get upset over it. lol
Stirring your milk shake with a spoon offers more control than blender, but that's not really a good argument against blenders is it?

Most of the automatics I have driven in my life could be shifted from first gear to fourth gear manually allowing you to stay in the gear of your choice until your chosen point to change the gear selector to the desired gear.
It therefore has the same amount of control as its standard counterpart.

Lol Lets see you down shift an auto hard like you would a manual tranny if you were going through curves. I can almost promise you it will break something after a time or two. Trust me, I went thru two trannies doing that when I was 16-17.

Yep. lol I had manual withdrawls back when I was 17 or so and my car was down, I had an auto Camry and would drive like that, I'd always blip the gas when I downshifted under braking so at least it never did some crazy wheel locking nose dive. lol :lmfao:

This is sinfix level stupidity. For a daily driver in stop and go traffic on your daily commute home, nothing is worse than a manual. Well, nothing except a Prius.
k
I would take my automatic car out around the town over my manual car any day of the week. shifting 5 gears with a stage three clutch just to get to 45 is more of a chore than fun to me.
I enjoy daily driving a automatic way more than a manual.... i don't see the point or need to have a manual just to get around. I don't need to race, drive fast, or rev at anything. Although, when the time and the place is right i love to drive my manual.
Yea driving stick can be a hassle at times when you're not in the speedracer mood; however, if I had to choose between auto and manual and I only had one car manny all day. But at the same time I really enjoy motor sports so I have this autotech/racedriver outlook on cars. performance > luxury for me
On a side note anyone ever drive a car with a sequential gear box? I must say Those ARE Hella (yes hella) awesome to drive.
The e46 with the SMG trans is a really fun car. No clutch, but the raw feel of a manual shift and performance

If i only had one car it would be a manual, as well. I drive around a lot, so i prefer to do the least amount of work as possible.
Sequential is no fun for me. i hate triptronic/sequential. i would rather it be manual.
Has anyone driven the new nissan's with the CVT transmissions? I think that's the best automatic transmission. almost feels like boost. haha

The CVT in the Nissans are great for cars in that class. No annoying random downshifts or anything.

CVT's are interesting to drive hard. Revs stay at the peak of the power band the whole time... Sadly they're notoriously weak and loose a ton of power.
A sequential and tiptronic aren't the same. Not sure if the user was just speaking in general of non H-pattern xmsns or what? If I was building a drag car I'd like to have a dogbox, sequential for track use, and H pattern manual for everyday back woods driving.
