I just bought a 97 prelude about a week ago. The person i bought it from said the previous owner put a motor in it from an 01 prelude. Its throwing an idle sensor code of P0505 or something to that effect. Im not 100% sure if the motor is from an 01, and even if it is, does any one know if it would be the same sensor. How would I be able to check and see what year motor i have, if i need to check. block code is H22a4
Thanks

F22a4s come from the 1990-1991 Accords...

this thread makes no sense. He has to be misreading the engine ID. Its probably a H22A4. The car is still OBD2 if he is throwing that code. So assume this is legit for a sec:
with a p0505, try cleaning the IACV first, reset coes and run. If you are still having problems, make sure there is power going to the IACV and test resistance through the valve. If not withing specification even after cleaning, replace it.
P.S. The F22A4 doesnt even have a knock sensor, so unless he has a chipped OBD2 ECU (highly unlikely), he would be throwing that code as well. Give the man a break, jesus...

Really sorry about this guys, Didnt even see i put an F there :/
yes, its an H22 my bad. Any ways, Iv done a bit of research, and iv tried everything under the sun to fix the problem. Tried, taking off the IACV...which, the damn thing is brand new, so, it was replaced right before i got it.
I tried, screwing the little yellow cap button thing in the Fast idle valve, that some times gets loose, i bled the coolant, to make sure there were no air pockets.

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body?
