He told me that when he HAD AN H TRANS ON HIS SETUP HIS CAR MADE 238WHP. And when he put the B16 TRANS ON IT MADE 228WHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now why would he lie to me about it?? Ask him for urself if you dont believe me. He was serious. he wasnt trying to downplay his car or anything but when i told him about mikejones claims of 300whp with pro3's and head work etc etc , he even said "no way"!! Matter of fact when i told him that, thats when he told me he made 238 on the H trans and 228 on the B16 trans. no offense mike but I'm a little skeptical of this 300whp number. making 300whp requires a certain amount of wtq at a certain rpm. so take your pick:

300whp = 210wtq @ 7500
300whp = 196wtq @ 8000
300whp = 185wtq @ 8500
300whp = 175wtq @ 9000

looking at those numbers it is obvious that the easiest way to make 300whp with a honda is to rev it to 9k and still be making at least 175wtq at that rpm. But when stroke, rod length, or compression are changed... the cam requirement of the engine is changed also. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't expect a cam that makes 250whp on a stock stroke, to be worth a damn on a bottom end with different geometry, no matter how awesome the bottom end is, you might only see 5-10whp. I also hope you aren't planning on the 196wtq @ 8000 route... because that would be more VE than a cammed K20, and with a longer stroke that is pretty much impossible.

So on a legit dyno jet, I think 270-280whp from an H is pretty feasible. but just like 1/4 mile times, every little bit is more and more difficult to achieve. I'd expect it to take a perfect cam for the application, 13:1 or higher, proper fuel like Q16, perfect header and intake manifold, all dialed in... and at least 2.4L to have an H make 300whp. the only reason I say that is because it takes many of those same things to have a K make a legit 300whp, and I would expect the H to be a little more difficult due to the head design.

My motor will make over 200 tq and it is 13.1 or higher plus im not running the same cam thats in my dads motor . I bought pro 3s . It is also a 2.4 litre so thanks for the recipe i think i already have everything lol.

On a serious note it is a goal but i will be very closs to it . My motor is a good but bigger then my dads with more compression , more stroke , bigger cams and h2b . If most h2bs make 20hp more and my dads car is running a h tranny whant number you think it would put up with a h2b mosely ? Im sure it wouldnt be twenty hp more but even ten more hp would be nice with better gearing . Ive done all the math and i have the shit to do it with so we will see what it does. The only thing i dont have is the money for a custom header which i need so im going with logistic motorsports and if it doesnt do what i want ill change that up. Everything else i have . i would like to go with 90mm pistons but im ready to get this thing done and have a spare sleeved block so for now it will be 88mm.

actually some of these are local shops in NY beating randy. it really doesnt matter how many people are building a motor there is only so much that can be done to a motor, rnady knows his shit so it wouldnt make a difference if he built his motor or if he had 20 people help him. randy isnt the only h2b running in his class there other h2b set ups running in his class i just used him because he is the quickest. there is a reason why people go K and its because its just a superior motor, bigger motor, better flowing head and better tech. K series are more reliable, also randy blew his motor that went 10.5 while these k's running 10.2's are still running. randy uses custom pistons and has custom work done on his head by brad at RLZ (they are good friends) and we all know RLZ does some of the best work in the states. el freddy has his rwd civic running 7's its running a k series. for a reg street person who doesnt have their own shop and alot of money and no patience then h2b is the way to go. K series is expensive but if you have patience then you can slowly put one together and spank anybody at the meets. if you roll up to a local meet with a k24/20 frank motor with bolt ons, k pro and a tune no h2b at that meet will beat you unless they are BUILT or boosted. i like h2b's they are great frank setups to have, has alot of tq and are fast shit here in NC theres a h2b with just bolts ons and a tune running 12.4's using a b16 tranny with m factory FD on slicks but k is still superior. all im saying is stock for stock K wins and fully built vs fully built K wins again so K FTMFW!

this is what happens when h2b trys to run k24 frank setup at the meets. these are two locals here in the charlotte area. the h2b has a built block with high compression pistons, full bolt ons, the head has full valvetrain with jun III cams , its tuned running a type R tranny and the k24 is a k24 block with k20a2 head full bolt ons and k pro tuned. since this video the h2b got a port and polish and is running 11's.

See you contradict yourself man . A k24 beating stock h2bs is not stock verses stock . Its a strocked k series beating stock h2bs . Ive been around the block and stock for stock a k series swap runs 12.9 . A h2b runs 12.9 period . Ive already said the k motor when you get to a certain point is superior period but nobody around here is at that level yet . Randys motor before that wasnt much slower and wasnt custom . WHen you get to that point everything is custom and because one motor blew doesnt make k anymore reliable . Will a k series rev to 10,000 rpms and stay together longer then a h series reving that high sure but not when stroked to 2.6 litres not going to happen . Well not for long .

True Street makes the cars go on a cruise for 30 miles, then pull in the staging lanes with no changes, and run 3 passes with no changes. there is no way any of those Civics could make 30 miles. A couple of them would have overheated with no openings for air.

I have a Honda "Civic" that I would like to build, but no time to do it. Start with a 600 (car), and put an 07 CBR600 engine in it,right behind the back seat. No reverse, but light enough to push backwards.

you guys are just arguing stuff that doesnt make sense. You cant compare v8 street cars that are RWD to FWD Hondas that have 2.4l and under.

A more ACCURATE comparison would be comparing a 8 second all motor mustang to a 10 second all motor honda civic.

Hondas run 12s pretty easily with few mods. Mustangs run 11s pretty easily with few mods (or even high 10s).

what it takes to own a 10 second ALL MOTOR honda makes it NOT STREET LEGAL i dont care if it has a tag or not. The power it takes to make that kind of ET is in the 280-300whp range, and the car has to be sub 2000 lbs. It usually runs on race gas, 12-13+:1 compression, etc. It has cams that arent that streetable usually, or ITBs, etc. Sure you could drive it on the street, but chances are it has so much money in it, why take the risk.

Im sure there are plenty of semi full interior mustangs running 10s (maybe not on motor) that are much more "streetable".

Considering the fastest NA car in GA (that we know of or that shows up to race) is chips car, and if he shows up thats prob a true statement. I dont see anyone else breaking 11s against him all motor. Mose is the closest one, but i dont think he has the chassis prep to get there and i dont think he really wants to do all that work to get there. 12.2 is a far cry from 11.6. I think hes happy with a low 12s all motor car he can truly daily drive. but maybe im wrong.

Gregg wont show, or if he does hell run 14s.

Jones can show up but he wont have anything for Chip (no dissrespect but a 12.6 is not going to compete against mose or chip)

I heard the Midnight Auto hatch was for sale by the actual owner of the car. Who says it doesnt get sold or break again......even then have they broken 11s in GA yet?

Make no mistake, this car is only used for track, but could be put on the street with it's spare radiator, alternator, and street tires - all of which he has handy. It's our local racer, Bart Tobener, and yes, he is a professional, so it's not a fair comparison, I know to make to the people that race for fun on this board.

The si runs 12.3 all day mike just had some traction issues at import show down with the pro twos installed. I have no need to fool with it since my new motor is being put together as we speak . i did learn that if you put a alternator that works on it that it runs 100000 times better lol... im gonna go to the track this weekend and mess with it, if i can get it to shift with street tires and spinning then it will deff work with slicks. and if not im gonna take it to mike jones and drop it off and pay him to play with it bc he has the only h series ive ever seen shift right and mine has a saenz gearset?????

About the guy in AL, the only time i remember him talking about losing power was when he switched from hondata to neptune and lost 25whp. i just lost power after i switched from honata to neptune. After Import Showdown in July i recently did a compression test on the motor its 220 psi all across. Lastyear, whenever the car made 238whp/170tq was on hondata and B-series trans[compression number were 285 psi] I was also running 12.2@114mph [2225lbs].

Cranking pressure means nothing man . If you shaved the head your cams are out of degree causing the lack of cranking pressure . Unless your running race gas or e85 285 is way to high any way. You can moved your cam gear one degree and your cranking pressure will rise back up . Sounds like you have a healthy motor just need a little fine tunning. Just food for thought trying to helping . When we made over 215 cranking pressure on 93 octane we lost power tried to detnate. 285 is way high . Pm me your dyno and I'll tell you whats up. Sounds like cams need decreeing to me and I don't mean just moving them like skunk says . Finding top dead center then moving them were skunk says, then play from there depending on what your vtv clearance is. Car runs great hope you get it were you want it. Put that baby in the 11s. Seriously I wouldn't worry about the cranking pressure so much .if you changed cams that could be why also. Bigger cams bleed off cranking pressure in order to run higher compression so your supposed to have less with a bigger cam and all that changes when it goes into vtec anyway. Also if the gears have wear doesn't matter if the syncros are new . It can be a tone of stuff which all needs to be checked. Sometimes you can get lucky by just putting new stuff in but everything needs to be checked.

I know only from High RPM shifts, last motor went to 9800, this one now has seen 9500... I'm sure if you ask around you will understand more about the clutch thing, it's not just me that notice those things have problems.. ;)

Can't say to much online, but ask some big dog's who have made power and shifted at 10k on the limiter....LOL
