If that's just what you're looking for all you really need is a simple K swap in a hatch. It will make a great DD to tinker with, have regular maintenance with no issues, and I assure you it will put a smile on your face everytime you drive it.

Mike 25X whp is nowehere near the same stadium as 280whp in an h22, and i highly doubt H2B would "add" XX whp although id love to see the difference. But even then thats not really making the motor anymore power.

Getting from 260 to 270, is tons of money, 270 to 280, even more. Do you guys realize HOW HARD it is to pick up 10whp when you are making that kind of power already?????? Its an act of god.

Voya, H22 270whp is a massive number and youll need a bunch of luck. B Series , 250-260 LEGIT is almost IMPOSSIBLE. I dont care what anyone says, or read on the internet, or dynoed elsewhere. Making a legit 250+whp in a B Series or 270+ in an H is something a handful of people can do. Thats getting into the realm of you cant just slap shit together, it takes knowledge not parts shopping.

Voya let me know what you have, ill steer you in the right direction.

Personally if that big of a number is your goal, it has to be at least an H22 or a K24, no other motor will come close.

What motor are you talking about? Mikes? Lol that b16 SI? Surely you don't mean that motor. You know WHY it didn't turn over (actually it did). Ask Btec he was there. Mikeblew his motor up 1 day after turboing it and had no money. He begged me to help him out. So I told him if he helped I'd piston slap it so he could limp it until he had money. Jesse was there when I put the pistons in HE BOUGHT. He couldn't afford machine work or pulling the motor. I toldhim "50/50 chance it will work".

The pistons were so tight in the bore it was hard to turnover by hand, I asked him "dude this is really really tight, it's not supposed to be like this. You may get lucky and it wears in but I doubt it". He said "fuck it finish it I need my car"

So Jesse and I bolted the head back down, it ran for 20 minutes and seized like I thought it would.

So please, dont go believing some half ass story I did for a friend in my spare time.

Actually the last motor I built was 99si on here gsr and it ran great and made good numbers. He sold the car months later.

That was the lastmotor I built. Would you like me to name the other 10 I assembled? Or does it even matter at this point?

As for your 300cfm comment I don't know what youre saying as I was talking about a 1.8 liter motor, not a 275 motor. So if you're asking me that a motor can reach it's limits , the answer is yes, which is what makes NA so difficult. Yes a 300cfm head on a b16 will only do so much, the motor can only displace 1.6l and you will reach that limit.

Uh yeah I learned from don who has built far more Motors thathave won races than anyone I know. James was a mechanic we never really talked theory or anything. I learned a lot from James about how much I hated working on cars :)

Charles taught me a lot too.

I also learned from my own cars that I modded . Yes I know it's impossible for you to believe that I do work on my own stuff, till I got money, then I decided I'd rather not mess with it.

Go to youtube and search parish idle or parish dyno... I have a vid of my car when it made 520 on pump and wastegate on a mustang.dyno and a vid of my car at idle. My car is currently at jjspec right now so ill be sure to post a curve for u on a later date after I have some fun with it.

And I build my own shit, let jones putt it together around this time last year due to a oil pump failure simply bc I bought it from him then sunk 2 sleeves and had to have it rebuilt and did it myself

ALL MOTOR H SERIES

I made 705 (I have videos and dyno) on PUMP gas, 22psi. Oh yeah it was 5 years ago.

I built the entire car and bought all the parts except the cams and valvetrain which were turbo daves. Turbo Dave did the fabrication which was 90% of the car from the custom intake manifold to the 6in downpipe. Sorry, I don't know how to weld

I started off with the chassis bare, I built the motor (which means I did the cam, valvetrain, oil pump, headstuds, clutch, timing belt and water pump, tensioner, bell housing, twin turbo removal which I'll never do again, etc). Dave did the Meir mounts, tuning, wiring, fuel pump assembly.

i personally owned a 247hp h2b but when i messed the bottom end due to turboing it with 12.5:1 comp bent a eagle rod... so i putt stock h22 trans and stock jdm bottom and got rid of it to fund my turbo car. Jimmy AT JJSPEC got the car and justin at jjspec got the motor and i belive its still the motor thats in his ek... or atleast the head

I moved around too much to own my own house, so congrats on that one. I never was dumb enough (thank god) to knock up the whores i banged in college, so i dont have any kids or any "baby'' mamas, but congrats to you for taking care of them, but again who cares? At 18 i had a 85 prelude SI (1998) automatice with Prime 5 stars and a RS Akimotor intake. It was THE BOMB

When i graduated high school i bought a 99 Civic CX Hatchback. I did a CTR wing, intake, header, y8 manifold, and clear tails. i raced in in phoenix. It was also THE BOMB

my next car was a 88 CRX with a ZC motor, that i traded for a 89 CRX with a b16. I did Skunk2 Stage 1 cams, header, intake manifold. I street raced in here in atlanta. it was YOURDADDY

Then i built my GSR crx that had an ANR header (like the only one in the state cause it was $700). I ran Rocket M22s and made 189, but the impressive thing was that i revved it to 10,000 (something only Johnzm and Ken black R were doing) on STOCK RODS. it lasted 50k miles, i sold it, and began my 2.0l project.

at 23 i bought, purchased, built, assembled a 91 CRX (that later i sold and bought an 88 HF) and made (to this day still) 237whp/159TQ and the highest B Series All Motor in GA. I was the first one in GA to crack 220, and 230. I was also the 3rd person in the COUNTRY to have a set of PRO3s because i know David Hsu the owner of Skunk2 through Don. I was sent a prototype set.

I built prob 10 motors over my course of time at Mainstream, did several swaps, clutch swaps, valvespring installs, i did several swaps while working at Batlground , did all my own work when it came to my car, my GFs type-R, etc.

at 25 i made 705 with my 2JZ 240.
at 26 i owned 3 RHD silvias and 1 180SX rhd

I also went on to organize and test (at 23) the biggest most concise header test ever (hytech, RMF, SSR, SMSP, Sparks, DC, all participated). I started my own company at 23 called SRZ racing which was absorbed by mainstream performance when i went to work for them. SRZ was a combo of me , johnzm and Jenson. We built several of the fastest all motor street cars in GA at the time, jenson had a 12 second Stock GSR with 100 shot , John had a GSR that never dynoed, but prob made 200whp and pretty much destroyed everyone.....until my 2.0l was done.

I organized the first test of IPS vs Skunk2 after their rival started. Skunk2 and IPS trusted Chunky and i to test THEIR products for them because they knew people would believe us.

I was sent the FIRST of Skunk2s CNC ported cylinder heads (that you wont remember because they arent offered anymore). They wanted MY opinion on what it made. They wanted my feedback. Same with their K Series stage 1 cams and adjustable cam gears. They have their own R+D but they know if i approved it kids would buy it, because my reputation was very big (still is) even though im not as active as i was before.

I sat in Skunk2s million dollar motor home as Mr. Hsu invited myself and Charles Warren to sit down while heexplained to me the new upcoming line of PRO cams before they came out, talked about omniman, and more. All because i was a close personal friend of Don Flores (who built my motor). David said anyone that knew don was not a "typical forum commando" and was really excited to talk to someone that knew don.

I brought 1 comapny from the brink of bankruptcy and pretty much completely unknown to the biggest honda shop in the state. Im a good manager, i am a good marketing person. Our techs did fantastic work, i just pushed it, and brought it out. Scotty had tuned 10 cars when we decided to push his name. now hes tuned over 1000.

So i pretty much was involved in shaping the modern car scene in Georgia. Tom Hornsby was responsible for it before me, i came after him. But yes, ive did a TON for this industry. I brought THOUSANDS OF KIDS parts to make power for 1/4 the cost of the real thing. I mean how is that not innovation.

Chunky and i have done alot of testing together. From headers to cam tests on his dyno mule EP3. Well Chunky recently put together his new motor.

We have always had a running bet that he couldnt beat my B Series (237whp/159TQ, DonF Built). His K20 has come close a few times but always was a few hp away.

Well tonight he finally got me, and i had to buy him dinner at Taco Mac.

Ill let him chime in on the engine mods but its a basic built K20, nothing really trick. IPS Cams, Rods, Pistons, RBC.

Did your car dyno here? if not SHUT THE FUCK UP. If it did, awesome man, you barely made what my 2.0l made with a 2.2, but still congrats. My car was a daily driver i drove it everyday, i also did it 5 years ago, when you could barely drive.

your turbo 4cylinder id love to see it make over 700whp, got vids or anything? again, i built that car 5 years ago, when a 700whp honda would have put you in the top 10 in the nation, now not so much, so you cant compare the 2. Also, my SUPRA never made over 705 because it didnt need to. At LOW BOOST (550) it ran 11.0. I never turned it up to 32-34 psi like we planned, it prob would have made over 900. but if you ever owned a 240, you would know anything over 500 and the chassis falls apart.

Mike did his research, picked out his parts, delivered them to Don, had lengthy conversations with Don about the various technical considerations that went into his motor. He was very much involved in what went into his motor.

The real issue is, Mike is right about pretty much everything he's said in this thread, and the best argument anyone can come up with to disprove him is "you didn't build your b-series!" L O L.

To date:

There are no verified 250whp b-series motors in GA.
There are no verified 280whp h-series motors in GA.
There are no verified 300+whp k-series motors in GA.

It really doesn't matter what cars have put down on the dyno in NY, Cali, Florida, or wherever else everyone in this thread is talking about. Mike specifically said IN GEORGIA. Just because you can jump 10ft in the air on the moon doesn't mean you can do it here on earth. Like it or not, the conditions here in GA are different from NY. The temperature is different, more humidity, even the gas you get at the pump is different.

The other point that makes me laugh. . .

Just because you are SUPPOSED to make 20 more whp with a set of cams, does not guarantee that you will.
Just because you bolt on a head that flows 100CFM more, does not guarantee that you will make more power.

If we are going to start doing this kind of bench racing ricer numbers then im gonna say i would have made 260 with Jenvey ITBs instead of my $100 AEBS manifold, and 280 with a RLZ head and race gas instead of a $500 street port and 93 octane.

The only problem i have with that is its guessing. My car made 199whp with a 2.25in dual resonator exhaust. I had mainstream install a 2.5in straight through exhaust with a new muffler and you know how much power i picked up............ZERO. I made 237whp with a 3in exhaust, i dropped it and went open header, you know how much power i gained.....ZERO.

I made 199whp with STOCK ITR cams, STOCK ITR intake and TB, i switched to a Skunk2 manifold, 70mm TB and skunk2 stage 2 cams, i picked up 4whp.

I can sit here an name you 100000 instances where "upgrading" doesnt make any power. SO to use a blanket statement like "well a stock h22 makes XX and a H2b makes XX therefore mine should make XX" is a stretch.

Jasons motor should make a lot, but im much more of a pessimist than you guys are. He thinks if you make 250 with Tuner 2s hes going to automatically make way more with PRO2s, thats not always the case, and when he goes through enough motors he will understand that.

Apply that to a non built motor. if you believe as you guys are typing then youre telling me PRO3s will make more power in a stock B16 than ITR cams, when i know that is NOT TRUE.





Not planning on it, that crowd doesnt interest me. I dont want to stand around in 98 degree heat and watch hondas dyno. If matt and chunky go i might swing by for a minute. But i plan on being at a pool with beer all weekend, so we will see.

This isnt bench racing and has nothing to do with the head or the stroke . Id hope to pick of some from that but mostly tourqe. I agree it is exttremely hard to get 10hp in the na world of motor parts but as far as the h2b goes hp is hp. if you can make 25 more hp by bolting a b series tranny to a stock h motor you can do it on a 250hp motor period . It has nothing to do motor bolt ons . A balance shaft removal kit makes 8-10 dyno hp i dont care if its on a 150hp motor or a 250hp motor. Its loss of motion assembly . In ten years ive never seen a stock bolt on h22 make over 185hp . Now all h2b with b16 trannys are making over 205 stock explain that then explain why it wouldnt make a differnec on a 250hp motor. i got few tricks up my sleeve on my new build but im not even bench racing that setup or talking about doing anything special just going to h2b .

Im willing to bet just going h2b will put my dads motor over 270 and thats not even the normal 25hp gain that they see . Ok now now put m,y 4.9 diff in there and see what happens . I got a game for you . You said you think mainstreams dyno reads high because your itr made realy high numbers. . What final drive was in the tranny ?

All motor is a bitch i agree but what a tranny adds is what a tranny adds has nothing to do with building the motor some more .

Just for the record i thank 280 is easly acheivable by me but anything over that is going to be alot to get a little . I hope to make 300 on my set up but honestly if i dont sell my 88mm pistons and go to 90mm i doubt ill do it .

Im by all means not screaming 300-400 all motor hp is easy but yes i can tell you a simple 270-280hp h2b setup if you have the money to do it.

Go back when Mainstream had the "first" Dyno day!! I dyno'd both cars I had at the time.. Integra was built ls and made more than most all the vtec swaps at the time, the 240 was one of the first RB swap's, then spray and yes a bigger shot after Eric posted a sheet.. Who the hell tuned the 240 or LS teg back then (ME) My Crx back in 97 had a fucking LS swap welded in, untuned on spray, Before that I was using A6 pistons in the single cam, I think I have sprayed every car tuning off the fucking spark plugs.. Until Scotty, and ED, O and Jeff Harris which let me use his Dyno.. I've even used Knowledge before the owner died.. But Before those guys I had no options!!!

Now, go back 10 years and find all them dyno sheets.. LOL, sorry dude I'd love to prove you wrong, it's just a little harder cause my building peak was 4-5 years back.. I did grow up some, have a family, and money is not available like it used to be.. So with that said it takes a little longer for me to spend money in the cars.. Right now the bubble is street tuned and has not seen a dyno, will it make 250, umm no..

You seen the video of my ls/v walking a K swap'd hatch, do the math.. Come look at the car, it's a 2000lb hatch!! I was pulling away before Luis let out... Make excuses, but it would have took more than 200hp to do that!! That is a 4-5yr old motor on s100 tuned by ED.. The motor was Tuned in my EF, I bought the shell from Yee and did the swap, added some ET streets and raced in that video, took 2 weekends..

The car now is stronger, i base that by the feel of the car, and yes it has a new tranny also.. Who knows what it makes, I will dyno it just so you can see though.. Is it 100%, umm no.. But it's no turd, and I'll run any car you want to compare it with, numbers really mean shit to me so it's on you.. Once I can afford the needed upgrades I feel the dyno is a waste of money..

Mike I know you like to be the King of the forums, but really enough is enough.. I have watched you do this countless times over the years!! Shit's old, you can laugh with your buddy's all you want, but you only prove how conceited you really are!!

Wow dude, that 202hp car pulled once I hit the speed cut, where was I? Beside you? then what? Hmmm... ya, you pulled away, good race and yes it was a semi stock b16 in the Blk EF Si and made like 145hp on... Wait, umm yes MainStream's dyno... LOL

Go find the 240 dyno, the silver teg dyno, the tan Ef dyno, the blk Ef dyno, o and the grn boosted bubble, All those cars where dyno'd on Mainstreams dyno... Jeff might have the Nos pulls from later on when I did the wet kit on the RB swap, it was stock when I dyno'd at mainstream..

Good luck with the sheets man, o yeah Scotty did tune an all OEM ls/v I did last year(grn hatch) made like 170, another one 2 yrs ago which made like 197... You can ask about the GSR I built all OEM(red bubble) 5-6yrs ago, Scotty tuned that also.. I'll think of more I'm sure, but good luck searching the files..

I can't shit a dyno, that motor was in my EF, I told you that already, It was then in the red bubble.. And I'm not making excuses, You take what I say as an excuse.. I got beat and gave you a hand shake, Never did I lie about the integra.. He was racing someone I think and I was following, I had a better jump if I remember correctly, that allowed me to stay on him, then switching lanes.. Now I raced the RSX, lost and gave him a hand shake.. It came up about my car smoking, and NOS... I have over 70 degrees of angle I was open throttle as you can hear plain as day. If she would have been in a different spot you would have seen that. She didn't even capture the transition except for the one entering into the course which I did flawlessly with no ebrake clutch kicking a pos xtd none grabbing clutch.
