i always wanted to do this but the inability to fit it under a stock hood killed it for me
When your going fast....who needs a hood lmao!

 Maybe the person going fast so debris doesn't fly up and tear your shit up.
I hate these swaps about as much as an LS1/240 or other fucked up swaps.
Hasn't happened yet, but thanks for the bad wishes :goodjob:

I'm not knocking you in any sense of the word. Do your thing, man. I just don't get why people like radical swaps like this so much.

i love it, just put one of those hood people used to put on these cars back in the nopi days, the ones that look like the mustang hoods, either way I like it, they now make locking oil caps for these swaps
Bacon
02-13-2011, 12:24 AM
With the way his hood is cut, a locking gas cap would be the least of my worries. You can damn near get to any sensor you want and could do a ton of damage.

You mean a cowl induction hood. lol
To the OP: Nice work. There's really no replacement for displacement, in NA form anyway. :goodjob:

Even if the edges of the cut were cleaned up it would look thousands of times better. I love the swap it itself though.

but then he would have zero ground clearance!
which blows, i did that with my h22a ef, and ide rather have the hood lifted or cut then hitting the header on everything

I'm not a big fan of how those swaps stick out the hood, but do your thing man.
Dam nice work man! Plans on boosting it?
Nope, it's for sale but I'm not trying to turn this into a fs thread. Boost would definitely wake this thing up. That and some good super sticky tires. I'll try to post a video later.

Awesome swap man, how long did it take and how hard was it? You really should have gotten the hasport J swap mounts so you could still use your hood properly. I dont see why you even have a hood. With a hole that big it doesn't really serve a purpose anymore

Reading owns several people in this thread. HASport makes mounts for this swap to fit under the hood but ground clearance would suffer. I would much rather have it sticking out of the hood and have the car lowered a little on a nice suspension setup than to have it under the hood and a stock suspension.

One of the only set ups I would supercharge. Theres actually more room when you swap this into a 4th gen prelude, THAT I would turbo.

already said something like that saying their adjustable but like you say nobody reads lol. but i know on the integras they have no problems with ground clearance.

I think some sort of lexan/plexiglass cover would be cool, kind of like the zr1.
This guy got the entire thing to fit, but still cut the hood for a little addition.

The 3.0 is a really common swap in the contour/focus community.

I hear those 3.0 contours are stout little cars. I considered one a little while back but it didnt have a cat. Sadly, that was a deal breaker for me.

OP nice swap! I bet the torque steer is incredible.
My last two race cars didnt have hoods. From what I found, I was either working on them or showing them off so I left the hood off. Could become a problem if daily driven though.

haters
Swap is easy just like any other swap if you have done a ton of them. The car has Hasport mounts but they are not adjustable. And the car is driven daily with no issues. I drove it to Reynolds for import showdown and I had no issues then either.
Thanks for all the compliments.
