can it transform?

I like it, even though it is not my favorite bodystyle. You don't see many AMC's anymore.

Yes, from and ugly old beater to an ugly old beater that leaves slightly squiggly 11s on the street.

good deal. any pics of what the old one looked like? it was probably like trying to suck air through chunky clam chowder.

The Gremlin is ugly. The Javelin is just right! I really like these and I'd like to see it come together.

There is a reason for that.

Yeah, you can't find every part needed to build the car out of a catalog like a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. In other words it's a much harder restoration job that bubba can't do in his back yard.

Or because most of them are not worth restoring unless they have sentimental value. Not like "bubba" can restore a 63 Corvette either. Dust the sand out man. I don't like Javelins, you do (obviously) so have fun with it and enjoy it.

acctually i like Chargers but, some of those run as much as a new vette. Only way i could get one is if my uncle died tomorrow and left me his '68 and i believe he was on pot when he restored it last.

I know this is import atlanta....

but this car is better than 90 of the imports on here.

Ok so, we found out the '02 MDX we bought for my sister has 163k miles on it as opposed to the odometer reading 103k. So the guy we bought it from did a odometer rollback. Also we found that two of the axles were busted, one of the struts was from a junk yard, a safety feature for the power steering had been disconnected, and the tranny had been replaced. So the Javelin might be staying at the shop and going ahead getting the paint done.

yeah, it moves pretty damn good and it acctually handles really good aside from the fact that the seats have virtually no foam left in them.

no the guy has to buy it back or we can sue him for 25K, she's now getting an '07 Mercury Mariner Hybrid that Long-Lewis uses as an errand runner.

Update: After seafoaming it, the Carb is now spitting some dark liquid out of the driver's side of it. My dad however thinks the block is cracked because there's a good bit of moisture comeing from the exhaust when it's first fired up on a cool morning, using his reasoning apparently my Maxima and the rest of the cars in our family have cracked blocks also.

Ok, so i showed a guy at the shop it's at, where the leak was and he said some kind of valve is busted and it's flooding the carb. So they could rebuild it but, it would be cheaper just to get a whole new carb. The question is, Holley or Edelbrock?

youre asking the wrong forum. only a select few would be able to give good advice on that question. the others will be scratching their head saying "skunk2 makes carbs right?".

Go with a Holley. they are easy to maintain. go with a 600 or 650cfm carb since you got that big of a motor.
