When i talked to him about it he said to me he got it in a trade an it did work when he got it and had a charge but now the battery is completely dead.

^Yup thats the gist of it. Got it in a trade from a friend and it was turned on when I got it, since they left it on battery drained and died. So it will need a charger. Its is a 2002 G3 14"
