HEy,
i got a problem with a kia van im working on, its a 2003 KIA sedona 3.5L, i replaced spark plugs, coil, and wires, and now it is making a knocing and then shuts off. before i did this the motor ran fine just needed a tune up and motor mounts, ran good before just sluggish. im pretty sure its just needs a carbon cleaning, ive ran into this before and the shop did a carbon clean and then it ran fine. So i need to know if anyone knows what they do or use to do this. So i can do this at home.
or if anyone knowxs what else it could be would be great!!!

it sounds just like cross wired like silversol said. Only other thing i could think to make it knock then shut off is oil pump going out or bad

well the knocking and skipping in the kia had metal shavings all in the cylinder so its screwed up. the walls are probably scarred and head too.
anyone know where i can get a good cheap kia motor, its the 3.5l and it seems like this motor was used in alot of models even hyundai so i know to check junk yard but other than thati dont know. its probably cheaper to buy a new van.
suks big time its my grandmother van she ran it without oil, for however long and now im screwed b/c i said id fix it.

Take the motor out from the bottom. Use a couple of jack stands and jack the front of the van as high as possible. Lower the motor still attached to the subframe with a pair of floor jacks.
