wat u guys think about it? e85 is a 100+ octane if im not mistaken.. would a high compression e85 daily driver be stupid or a beast yet exspensive? just looking for some insight

i use it in my race car and love it, 3 hrs of dyno tuning, 2 test n tunes, 2 race events and my pistons still shine lol. Its good stuff. Availability determines a DD type setup, but it won't be viable for a DD that you take out of town since E85 is not everywhere right now.

I plan on using it for my DD civic. There's plenty of them around town BUT like spoolin said, depending on where u go outside of GA, u might want to check on availability in that state b4 u make the trip. Now if u have a trailer thats a different story...................

i suggest tuning it on both fuels, do a dual map setup with a switch. if you are on E, and theres not one around, just flip it and fill it.

there is also AEM and im sure there are others. Also isn't that mainly for turbo guys, i dont think all motor can switch like that but im not sure

what do you need to switch a car over to e85? i'm very interested. is it expensive?

you can use a dual map switch on NA or FI, theres no difference there. Depends on if your EMS will support it.

To upgrade to E85 you have to upgrade your fuel flow capacity by atleast 30%

Example, my car dynod 840 whp last year on gas and 1600's with aeromotive a1000
this year i dynod 850 on E85 with 2200cc injectors, and an Aeromotive Pro this year....im putting a voltage booster inline to let the pump support about 950-1000 when i want it to on e85.

With the power you are making I would think it would be safer to up your injectors some more. (especially if you are planning on getting a better tune for better numbers.)

your power capabilities drop when you switch from gas to e85 without upping your inj sizing.

Are u N/A or FI? f course N/A wont need as big of injectors as FI but but setups will need upgrade fuel pump(255lph)

if you make 500 on gas and you are running 85% duty cycle or more at 500hp on 880's....then if you switch to e85, you must upgrade your fuel capacity by 30% to make the same power....your pump might not be maxed, but the injectors could be...so you'd need 1200's to sustain e85 and probably add an inline bosch pump.

this is just an example.

Exactly and the $2-400 cost for bigger injectors is WAYYYYY better than $7+/gal race gas when e85 is $2.50/gas give or take a little more.

We're still dialing the first 330 in. so it hasn't made a complete full power pass, ive been hooking very well under powering the chassis turning it up gradually. When you hook to much, your trap is lower. There is such thing as hooking to much.
