Im looking at a 69 Toyota Corona at this moment. It appears to be in good shape. It has a 3RC engine with a few nice bolt on modifications. The interior isnt too pretty but in good shape for the age. Ive read up on them on Wiki and did some browsing. However I was wondering if anyone here has some experience with them and their reliability. What is your opinion?

You know my opinion. And as often as I drive through Dothan, you better let me see it if you get it. Later, QD.

OH MY GOD! That thing is beautiful! No first hand experience with them, but it's a classic Toyota, how could you go wrong?

Lots of experence!!! If they are well maintained the motors can last for ever, if its a manual car you can use most of the tranmissions from the 70's if you have a failure, but it probably has a cast iron 4 speed that is next to impossible to break. The motors are really slow by todays standards, and the timing chain setup has a jack shaft that makes thing a little strange come time to do one. A 18rc and a 18rg are both bolt in swaps for the car and there is also a little 3rc and 18rc hybrid that can produce more power. But the 18rg is where its at!
They use a duel A-arm set up in the front that does not really give you too many options for up grades, and the brakes on those cars are usually drum, but maybe that year has disk already. The rear is Leaf spring that probably have never had teh busings changed so it might squeek a little. But all and all a car like that Is built to last. You should never have to do any major work to it except drive it.

Well I have been emailing the guy about the car and it takes forever to get a response from him. If I can sell my car i might go this coming weekend to Orlando. If I do get it, feel free to check it out QD.
