ok so i am strongly considering moving on to something else after the next few month. probably close to the end of the summer at the latest the beginning of the year next year. i wont probably be getting rid of my car as i would like to keep it as my toy i can sit and work on. UNLESS someone gives me a good price for it. i'd probably ask for about 3500 the way it sits 4k if i got it freshly painted.

for the people that one one or the other or have owned maybe both...whats yalls opinions on them?

for a vdub i was thinkin either a gli or a gt and for the nissan more then likely an altima and maybe a maxima.

please give me your thoughts.

Alitma SE-R, Do eeetttt. But srsly they are badass, and overlooked by most people, real sleeper :ninja: .

260 HP, 3.5 v6. comes in either 5 speed auto, or 6 speed manual, 6.6 0-60 time, and they look so damn cool.

Test drive a MKV or MKVI GTI before you make your decision. Maintenance cost are high (dealer oil changes are $90-$100), but it's still a great car. I drive an 07' with just an ecu flash, and I put down 300tq / 250hp to the wheels.

im honestly not sure what i want to do or which one i want to get....but it will be a daily..and only a daily. only thing i would even maybe do to it is lower it and wheels. some exerior things MAYBE but im gunna honestly try to keep it as stock as possible. but it hink i am leaning towards a nissan. i love gti's but maintenance and insurance costs are high on my lists of concerns.

im definitely considering a lexus. but i have to consider insurance payments as well as car payments as well since i have to get full coverage on the new car i have to take that into consideration as well.

gti vr6/1.8t/2.0t:

cons:
-slow
-not too reliable from what I hear
-look like a chicks car? this is up in the air....
-parts are probably expensive for this too.....

pros:
-can look good when modified
-german shit is cooler than japanese bs
-probably easy to work on but not sure....
-already turboed no interfooler needed

altima/maxima:

cons:
-big
-dont handle well
-parts are not cheap
-takes a lot to make it fast

pros:
-when modified looks better than gti
-faster stock v stock than gti
-more reliable
-more interior space for cargo/ppl

I guess it depends what you want...

Go nissan. From what I've seen in VW interiors they peel some how and that would irritate me to look at it everyday while I drive.

As far as looks go, I'd take a VW any day. Since the mid '90s, Nissan stopped making cars that were visually appealing (for the most part). If you go VW, the majority of their makes are quite nice looking, stock and modified. If your choices from Nissan are the Maxima or the Altima, the Altima would get my vote. The Maxima looks horrible stock and then they look worse modified. I saw a latest gen Altima just yesterday and thought that it looked pretty decent.

Overall? Volkswagen. Later, QD.

Vw does make some very nice looking cars, but to say nissan hasn't made any good looknig cars since the mid 90's, really? No such thing as a wrong opinion but you're like that 400lb woman that was on Dr. Phil because she thought being fat was sexy and she wanted to get bigger.

Some ppl wouldn't know good taste if it slapped them in the face...

There you go. That's how you pick and choose so as to make an attempt to make yourself seem right. BUT! At the same time, you proved my point. Newer model Nissans are not lookers by any means.

Don't forget the part (and you even fucked this up when you quoted me) where I stated "most" aren't decent looking. Damn you fucked yourself up, Boy. Later, QD.

Do yall really think new VW's aren't reliable? You aren't going to have any problems with either a newer Nissan or VW. I love VW but I really have a thing for SE-R Altimas, definitely the only Altima worth owning in my eyes. But the Gti has the fun to drive factor that even the SE-R can't match. I guess you just need to get seat time in both and pick what you like best.

aeshetics, really are up to who's looking at them. i'm a nissan guy for a reason. i like the way nissane designs the bodies of their cars. i do love me some german engineering, but i'm very picky about newer model VW's. most of them just don't do it to me, whereas MOST new model nissans i really like and would DD in a heartbeat if i could afford one. yes there are other cars on the market in that price range that on a purely aesthetic level i would take over a nissan, but between the two i'd take nissan all day every day.

as far as reliability goes, i've heard some horror stories about VW elecronic systems, and the prices to fix them. and i'm sure the new nissans have their bugs as well, but PERSONALLY i've heard more problems coming from the VW side. that's just me. if you're concerned mainly with insurance and reliability, i'd go with a four door altima. full leather premium package one one of those with some dark tint a little drop and some nice wheels and you'll have a NICE DD.
