Vtec head on one of those? LOL! Do some research dude, not gonna happen without alot of effort on that engine. There's really not a whole lot of aftermarket support for those engines anymore it really depends on what kind of gains you are wanting to get out of it... For a better cam profile without paying an arm and a leg for regrinds go with some JDM DOHC ZC cams they're supposed perform alil better. I have a set or 2 by the way if your interested. http://thezcr.com/ www.d-series.org/forums/dohc-zc/ are some really handy resources for those types of engines. Good luck if you have any question I might beable to answer them. I have alil experience with JDM DOHC ZC which is pretty much the same except for the drivers side engine mount and the cams...

Boosting is pretty much the bang for the buck with those things. Stock though those things are stout and perform much like an LS...

Pretty much its just like any other D-series block so all the parts are interchangeable. Boring it yes thats fine same specs as any D16. The only difference between your single cam blocks (A6, Z6, Y7, etc.) and your dual cam blocks (ZC, A1, etc.) is that they have a unique head bolt pattern, which is why its not "possible" to put a V-tec head on it. The V-tec head swap has been done no doubt but it involves alot of drilling and machine work, in other words its just not worth it.
