View Full Version : Car still won't idle.

I replaced my IACV already to try to fix the problem. And re-wired it straight to the ECU. The car turns off immediately after you put foot on clutch or take out of gear. It drives fine if you're in gear and doesn't bog out. I am at a loss here. Just sick of tapping the gas at red lights to keep the car on.
Oh, and if you're in neutral and you put foot on gas just barely to keep the car on, the revs go up and down without changing throttle pressure.

vacuum leak maybe? check all around your intake mani for hoses that are either torn, not attached. etc....
or maybe your fast idle valve. its on the bottom of the throttle body.

No, it feels fine all the time. Unless it's out of gear.
And I know I don't have any vacuum leaks.

try maybe clean the trottle body out, and a new gasket. check high idle valve or fast idle valve(dont remeber which). check lines for leaks even a pinhole leak will cause it

Wow. Just...wow.
Same exact problem happened when i had a prelude. It turned out the idle screw was messed with, the thread lock paint was broken so it was obvious someone messed with it. The idle was set too low, so when the car was warmed up the car will die. It will drive fine but when you come to a complete stop (redlight) i had to constantly keep on gassing it or else it will stall out. Man that shit was embarrassing hahah.
Give it a shot, see if someone messed with it and if it has, adjust the screw so you will idle higher.
Hope this helped.
