I heard from others I should prob change the fluid out in my forks. Since I wont be riding for awhile I figure why the hell not? I've got 22k on my '06 R6 and I know i need the valves adjusted which I believe ASE*TECH is going to do it for me. I trust him and love him. ;) WHAT?

How hard is it to change the fluid and what kind/weight should I use? (if they even come in weights/thicknesses)

Man I see you riding your R6 all the time on North Druid Hills. I'm always in a car so I don't want to scare you. How many miles did you buy the R6 w/?? You've been doing some serious riding. I know you're a tech but I'd check out Marietta Motorsports. They are very knowledgeable. I have a friend that races R6s & R1s in AMA & WERA. He works on so many Yamahas he makes me very comfortable. He's a Yamaha nut. If you want his number PM me. He did most of my work when I had my R1.

its not that bad to do as long as your careful about putting things back together.

make sure to replace the fork seals while your in there. you can go thicker oil and change springs around, ask one of those ships listed and they can guide you in the right direction as far as spring rates and oil viscosity go. you will also need to clean EVERYTHING well and be careful measuring the amount of fluid you put back in. you cant just dump the oil out, youve gotta disassemble it all and clean.

An experienced tech can easily do this. get a r6 manual from the forums and it will help loads. good luck!

Let me know my boy will probably be a little cheaper than a shop. Like I stated he's a Yamaha nut and has the same year R6 that he built from a total wreck. He races it in WERA and AMA and actually normally finishes in the top 5 in his class. He'd be my top pick just because he specializes in the R1 & R6. But just let me know.

You could change the oil yourself, but I'd just take it to Kent @ G.M.D. :goodjob: He knows his shit, and can answer any and all your questions regarding suspension.

I've put engines together to specific clearances...that's a pain in the ass.

But thanks homey. I got 2 pitbull stands now and Going to take some1's advice in here and get some1 to do them for me. Getting new headlights, more LED's, and powder coating somethings. :D
