Just a comment to this statement, I'll make. It didn't "seem" like it. That's exactly what you told quite a few people. There is a difference between seem to be and to be. I know I didn't take it personally because I asked you if my car could be in as a joke.
Next time just be straight up about the event. That would make a huge dent in bad publicity from that stand point. Just a suggestion for you. Later, QD.There was a Lexus meet a few weeks ago and several Supra's showed up...point?
Was it supposed to be cancelled on the spot because several of the exotics that were invited couldn't come or didn't show? All the cars present were tastefully modded.

In all honestly the dress code thing was a bit a much. No, I would not like to see a bunch of people in tuxs get out of suburus and evos and the likes. It would look like some sort of prom, without the girls. The only meet I can really think of that deserves a dress code is a purely exotic meet. But overall, like I said, seeing a bunch of guys get out of their very affordable cars with tuxedos and cigars would make me burst out laughing. To me, that screams Poseur.
Well the dress code was GQ gentlemen aka nice jeans and a button up shirt, not that hard to do. Props to the tux guy cause i hate wearing tux's.

Well of course you could drop everything you had and run out and buy whatever car your heart desired…. especially with today’s 72 month payment plans….. But doing so while at the same time being financially smart/sound isn’t a walk in the park, atleast not in my book.
Btw: The primary cars I am refering to are the z06s, 996tt, and supras I saw in the pictures.
Of course on those cars. But the comments were referring to the STis and Evos and such that aren't so hard to get, you know. But being around and old enough to drive back in the 80s, I know you see a lot more Vettes, Porsches and cars of that caliber on the roads today than you did back then. I remember back in the day it used to be a neck-snapper to see a Porsche at any time, lolol. Now I see several a day. Like I said, I'm not after an argument. I made my point, even if people like Speedminded doesn't get it (luckily one of the people that does matter in this did get it) and I see no reason to continue all the BS in it. Later, QD.

I have no idea what past issues are and I don't care because it doesn't matter or involve this event or this thread. I'm guilty of giving Sunny as much or more shit about past events as anyone else. I'm sure I can dig up plenty of my posts on them if I looked hard enough. What I didn't do this time was sit back and talk shit and not doing anything to assist or promote it.
People wonder why the scene is lacking. I remember the days when a tool was something that was useful.

I can pick out 3-4 people that need to get off the forums and get a fucking life. They seem to get off on arguing with people. If you don't like what's in here, then don't look at it. End of story. Thanks Sunny for at least putting effort into an event instead of sitting back and being a bitch and just bashing people.
Basically sums it up!! I had a great time Sonny and can't wait for the next one.

I remember my first reply. Page 1, actually. I made a comment in the direction of the pics. And I quote "high end cars?" I don't have any past issues with the dude. I questioned what he told everyone and I got my answer. I don't care if you had a hand in this event or not. SO if you can't understand that, then move along.

You cant read then, cause the first thing i said was the photos were too dark and the cars were mediocre.
Lets put it in the simplest fucking terms.............
Lets say throws a car show and they call it "THE MOST GANGSTER RIDES IN AMERICA, THE CRAZIEST SHOW CARS EVER SEEN ON PLANET EARTH"
And then a bunch of civics and integras show up. Wouldnt YOU as a consumer, critic, participant, whatever be a little disappointed? I would be. I mean i didnt pay to see this, i didnt go, i wasnt invited nor did i seek and invitation. But when i see a thread posted for months at a time, and advertising that states "THE ILLEST CARS OF ATLANTA" and then statements that its an invite only meet meaning he was trying to weed out the "weaker cars" aka non ILL cars, then we as a community expect A LOT. This thread DOESNT DELIVER that IMO.
If you market something as the illest, most gangster blah blah blah then it better be that.
I have no idea what past issues are and I don't care because it doesn't matter or involve this event or this thread. I'm guilty of giving Sunny as much or more shit about past events as anyone else. Ehh it is a little off topic, but I have personal experience with Sonny/Sunny whatever. IMO from my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, from his events, and from what i hear from OTHER PEOPLE is that hes a very shallow individual. Hes doing this as nothing more to make himself feel cool, or act like he knows people, etc etc etc. You can see that in his Facebook posts, his posts on here, the way he acts , etc. But hey, maybe im wrong, but IMO it goes to character. And when he overpromotes and underdelivers im going to say something, its a public forum. Why do you think he wants you to register on HIS SITE to view the pics after he promoted it on here? Why would you use IA to promote this event and not post the final product? Cause he has alterior motives. Only he knows what they are. The only reason why he posts it on here is because hes friends with ATIF.
People wonder why the scene is lacking. I remember the days when a tool was something that was useful.
The scene is gone , give it up. A stupid cruise at midnight is not going to bring it back. Stop whining about "OMG THE SCENE OMG ITS SO GONE ITS NOT WHAT IT SPOSED TO BE OR WHAT IT USED TO BE"
Who gives a fuck. The scene is what i want it to be, not what everyone else thinks it should be.
I street race, you guys do car shows or cruises or cruises to a club. Whatever, floats your boat.
This doesnt float mine.

You keep on sticking with high end and forgot where i told you (along with others) highly modified. Most of the evos and sti's (or any other import) there fit that category. I wish is still had the PM is sent you, but you can look in events thread. That's exactly what it said high end and highly modified. Few cars that showed up without notice so no control there.
You have been kicking this topic for past 10 pages, and yet tell people not to repeat things. This is the last time i am gonna repeat myself too.
It's funny how everyone who sent me a PM asking to come or posted for invite, when didn't get a invite all of a sudden they were kidding and PM was a joke. Now mostly all the fingers are being pointed by those people. My observation.

What a cheap shot.
Really, and you want me to post up what the girls you tried to work you weak game on told me about your failed, pathetic attempts? If i don't know the person I listen don't judge. Hence i don't say shit about people if i don't now them personally. You haven't dealt with me personally other than a business transaction over couple of days. You got to know me through that? Really shallow, i am doing this to make myself cool, act like i know people, and you know all this by my facebook and from what you heard from others. Buddy IA, Facebook isn't life....i know you have been "I am the shit online", but cookie doesn't crumble that way.
Look at your facebook & mine (you conveniently removed me for yours) You flashing cash in you pix, more than once. You tell me i act and pretend to be someone i am not or cool? You have walked by me more than once, not once said sup or anything. I am shallow? Don't bring Atif in here, he's a friend and i don't use him as a advantage. I paid for advertising my last event that involved participants paying.
IA requires you to register to view the forums, does that make owners with "alter motives" and shady?
Honestly Mike I thought u were bit mature than this, one of the last person i expected to hear this from.
You are welcome to PM to clear any doubts or make sep thread if you hav a problem with me. This thread stays focused to the Cruise after this.

Come on, dummy. My car has been out of operation for almost 2 months. It has a primer paint job. Crappy interior. You honestly thought, since you were touting this as a 'high end" cars only event that I really thought my car would be involved? Do here what you weren't doing for this event.....think about it. You know I'm smarter than that and that I just don't go making up shit. I've been quiet about my opinion of you because it was never necessary for me to say anything, but since you want to put it out like that, you are as everyone has described you. You prance around IA "promoting" your events, trying to shove them in everyone's faces, like they're big, balling event. Not one has ever lived up to your hype.
You wanted it to end, yet you responded. I haven't posted anything in the hopes it would, but you don't seem to want to. Later, QD.

That is awesome!
Haha, it seems that this sunny is upset because no one on here rode his nuts like he was expecting everyone to. There are only a few nice cars that were posted, but his wrx was not one of them. though there are a lot of personally shit posted here it's obvious that sunny hurt some people by not bothering to respond to their pms since people cannot say that they didn't want to go and be a part of this event -they did and weren't given the chance to attend to interact with everyone who is more fortunate.
this idea was stupid -why make it public that you're hosting an event with high-end cars in a public forum and not expect honda people to jump in and try very hard to make it only to be shot in the face and told that their piece of shit isn't worthy? Rides are just rides -some are better than others, but if people are trying to help the scene they have to work with what everyone has.
I know some people that attended this meet and I had a chance to go, but didn't want to. had more important shit to worry about.. plus I see porsches all the time. Just because I would've had a chance to see one up close and see the person driving it isn't a good enough reason to attend. This meet was supposed to be only high-end, but since the person who was organizing it owns a wrx he had no choice but to allow evos and stis to attend. How ironic that the organizer has a shitty car yet is allowed to criticize everyone elses rides.

Your point? The fact that this event was created to draw everyone with a high-end car into one parking lot and have a need for speed type cruise -but have mid-end cars attend is ironic. Dan's evo- apparently the only evo that attended is nice I would know. I have riden in it and since him do a lot of shit to it, but that's far from what I am saying. Sunny is butt-hurt because this thread backfired, he did not expect this.
I mean to even create your own site and have people register just to see some pictures of fancy cars? www.google.com (http://www.google.com/) this one doesn't require you to register and you can see tons and tons of pictures of fancy whips. Don't get me wrong though the bimmers, subies, that attend were pretty nice just not high-end.

i dont think the man is butthurt, i mean too me it looks like hes just defending himself. Its always something...lol. You create a website for events like most events do when the have a media section. its not really anything new, most auto blog sites make u register. Im on tons of blog sites, lookin at pics, thats the least i can do for taking pics from their site. i believe he expected it, before pics were even posted it was like this. IF there were 20 lambos, and 30 ferraris it would have been a problem with IA, b/c all the ferraris were red, and all the lambos doors went up...

There's just a different feel to this "event" than to say DO's SFK "meet". You go to a SFK meet, and EVERYONE is chill, hanging around having a good time, drinking, and kickin the shit. This "event" just kinda felt different. One thing I didn't like was the whole dress code thing. Sorry dude, but I built my car to MY taste and to MY liking. Why am I gonna have to dress to YOUR liking? This seemed more like a "yes sir" kind of "event", where the main person was the leader so to say. You go to a SFK meet and DO is prancing around drinking interacting with everyone.
This isn't directed at anyone or in a bad way to Sonny, just seeing from my point of view, and I guess other's point of view as well.

And its clear this wasn't the everday meet and if people didn't like the dress code requirement, they didn't have to come.
Its no different than a club or establishment that has different dress guidelines. If I don't want to dress up, I don't go.
People say "oh meets are all the same" and here is one that tried to be different and its "oh its different, it should be the same way"
I iz confused :D

This isn't directed at anyone or in a bad way to Sonny, just seeing from my point of view, and I guess other's point of view as well.
fix your damn avatar lol its been years since IA fucked that up. :2up:

Thank you everyone for your input and critiques on the event. I'm glad to see such an interest from the IA community.
I've noted a few comments some have made.
-The event claimed to be for high end cars- The Speed&Mischief Midnight Cruise event was titled "illest of ATL" This was misleading. In the future, Speed&Mischief will avoid this sort of dissapointment. Our goal is to put together quality events, this was a mistake.
-High Photo/Video expectations- This may fall under misleading advertisement as well. This event was not meant to be centered around the photos. While we wanted a quality video and quality shots as well, its a byproduct of the overall experience.
KEVIN FOR THE WIN
>We wanted to put something on, we wanted to get some cars together and have a large scale cruise/event. A couple of expensive cars were on the list and didn't make it, yet still had they joined in, we would not have had a "high end" meet in any sense. This is understood.
A dress code would have made the event that much more unique. Wouldn't it be great to see a bunch of people roll into a parking lot at midnight, hop out in tuxes and chill with some cigars? So what if they all had stock Subarus, It would be different and make an impact!
We certainly appreciate all the support for this event. Something of this scale could not have come together without Sunny laying the groundwork, all of the entrants in attendance and of course the media crew. You are all much appreciated.

I wasn't trying to be negative about the "event". I just wasn't feeling it too much. And in fact, I took your advice and I didn't go, even though I was invited.
I just don't feel the need to make it seem so "upscale". It was almost as if you had to get invited AND pay just to go. I mean come on, it's a bunch of guys with the same interest. Do we really have to get dressed up and act like millionaires when most of us don't have that much leftover after mods? Who are we looking good for (no homo haha)?
And again, to ME it just gave off the vibe of everyone playing follow the leader and listening to one person on what was to happen next. Not the kind of feel/environment/attitude you get from a real "meet".
And Whore-hey :2up: It's unique!! Newbs don't know what it signifies haha

You know what, Battery Boy, you're exactly right. The dude did this event and it turned out not getting all the "praise" he had hoped so he throws out the "what have you done for the scene" argument. For that argument to have any sort of validity, this event would NOT have been secluded to just "high end" people. It would have been for whomever wanted to do something for the scene.
Now there is nothing wrong with what he tried to accomplish. People do "exclusive" meetings all the time (myself included). But when you don't get what you want in reaction, that's not the argument you throw out there.
Now if TF were to have a shitty backlash on their event, the "what have you done for the scene" argument would be completely pointed. Later, QD.

This isn't directed at anyone or in a bad way to Sonny, just seeing from my point of view, and I guess other's point of view as well.A meet will rarely, if ever, have an agenda. I can set up a "meet" right now with a cookout, have it all arranged within ONE hour, and never have to think about it or plan anything leading up to it then don't have to deal with anything afterwards. That was NOT this event.
How many meets have you arranged or been to with police escorts or them stopping traffic for you? How many have predetermined routes with video and photographers everywhere? This event's main focus was the media and the "good time, drinking, and kickin shit" was done the week or two before while planning the last minute details and the week after when compiling things. The drivers had there most fun while...imagine that...driving. Hence the word "Cruise".

So it was more of a field trip in which everyone drove?
After a GOOD event/meet, people usually get back on here and rant and rave about how good and fun it was. I saw a handful of people doing that here. I'm not bitter or hating on the event, i'm just criticizing. If you wanna have an "invite only event", that's awesome. Don't go around making it seem like you have to have some sort of VIP pass to get in to the strip club and only deliver a tittie bar

So far, it looks like most of those that actually went to it came back and thanked Sunny for holding a good event. And, those that are doing the criticizing did NOT go, such as yourself.
That's pretty much the definition of a hater....

I don't see where the hate is. I got the invite, I thought about it, didn't seem like my thing. I could understand you defining someone if they didn't get the invite and were bitter about it. I'm just giving my view and critique as to why I didn't go. No need to get negative about it, right? I mean isn't that what an event holder wants, feedback and criticism? Don't you want feedback so you can change a few things around and make an even better event? :goodjob:
um where did all the pictures go?
