I was headed to douglasville from stockbridge after picking up Cole (Cole98Si). On 75 north when i see a red mustang vert get on the entry ramp. We made eye contact from across a couple lanes and tried to wave him our way. He wouldn't move, so we went to him. Then among changing lanes and what not, he nodded us over back to the far left lanes.
I'm in 4th at around 70mph. He looks over and I gestured to give him the move. He put it to the floor and i heard that very familiar Domestic rumble. He got maybe a bumper ahead before I hit boost and started pulling. I gained 1/2 a car, then went to 5th. After shifting, it was slaughter. I pulled atleast a bus length on him.
The guy was really nice about it though, he smiled after i let off and he caught back up.
Just thought I'd share the latest kill.

Not sure if you really need good street tires in 4th rolling 70.

Eh, 98 cobras are slow. they were way underpowered. a 1999-2001 cobra would've been a better race. 03-04.... lets not even talk about what would have happened. :D Nethertheless, not bad Drummer Boy

I used to have an '88 IROC with a TPI 305. It was supposedly stock, but it ran stronger than ANY other 305 car I drove. Had tons of low end torque, although it was pretty weak once it got up in the RPM's. Shifted super hard into 2nd gear (would literally get sideways in the rain, even when I wasn't on it). It was an awesome car!

yea i got a 91 with the TBI,i mean all its got is exhuast and should be into 14s...i mean nothing to brag about, but does good for what it is.

yea those TPI systems on those cars run out of steam round 5k.

My step dad has a 88 iroc-z with the 350 tpi in it and it went like a 13.5 or 13.6 in the 1/4th bone stock and it only has like 40k original miles on it also. Not to bad I thought for what it is.

To this day I think my IROC was the best riding car I had, for cruising around town. I really liked the suspension in that car, not to mention the Gen 3 Camaro has one of my favorite all time interiors. T-Tops are just badass, as well. It sucks that it's so hard to find an IROC that hasn't been ragged all to shit and/or turned into a mullet mobile, because they are still one of my favorite cars of all time.

We have like 15 of the camaro's that body style and 4 of them are iroc's 2 are 305 cars and 2 are 350 cars and the rest of them are regular and z28's. My step dad thanks they will be worth something one day. We mostly use the regular one's as parts cars for ower drag car and we are restoring the irocs and a couple of the z's, parts are so hard to find for them things now also. Ower drag car is almost finnished its really nice it's a 87 and its tubed out, roll cage and everything it has a 434 dart block at 14:1 compression with all the bells and whistles and its gonna have around a 300 shot on it also and it should be around 1200 to 1500 hp when we are done with it. I cant wait to go down the track in it.

i owned a '97 with intake, xpipe, and weld in mufflers that had 35k miles on it...shit was slow then, it's slow now....sold it and one of the timing chains broke on the new owner like 2 years later and took the whole motor with it....

lsx>ford modular motor any day of the week....and that's coming from a mustang lover from way way back

I was even with a gear/exhaust '98 Cobra with my 1985 Vette with bolt ons. They were decently quick when they came out, but nothing special. They are CERTAINLY slow by today's standards.

Yea there not as fast as back then...

Now the 08 shelby svt is just sexy...stock 12.9...

But then again with the money u spend for it (70k) u could build 6 or 7 ten second cars...

They're faster than that, damn near 11 seconds from the factory. The 2010's are even faster, and they are nowhere near 70, they're in the low 50's.

Just a FYI.

It may be slow, but I've beat 04 GTOs at the track in my ole stock as a rock 97 bud. Stock is slow thats life. The Z & & the Fox aren't :)

I own 3 mustangs, two old schools and a 2000 GT. The 66 and 67 are in a different catagory so i cant compare them, but the difference in power between the 4.6 and the 5.7 in my goat is astonishing. I love mustangs too, i just wish they would put a bigger motor into there GT's. Also, yeah the new shelbys are nasty. The 2010 models have 540 hp and they're selling for about $48,000. Once again Ford has the best bang for the buck, just like the 03-04 cobras. Chevrolet.... there SS camaro is 32,000+-, and they have 420+ hp... but is heavier then the Shelby as well...

lol, I thought you had a mustang in your sig, not a honda? I installed Vtec on my GTO.... before Vtec i was running consistent 13.4's.... after Vtec.... I was running 11's!!!!! I wish the honda guys would have shared their secrets earlier!
