The Z6 and Y8 have different heads and cam profiles. From what I have seen the Z6 makes a little more power in stock form (about 5whp).

Y8 has oil pump problems.

z6.
both are good motors, but the z6 is a better choice IMO. from what i've seen in the past, people would build the z6 and use the y8 intake manifold.

How is that wrong? He can use any motor with a harness conversion, OBD2 or not.

obd1 have different plugs, but the biggest problem is the obd1's don't have the crank sensor. But I've heard u can sometimes change the oil pumps with obd2's and they have the sensor on them, but someone chime in on me for that one, not for sure....
