Its a long thread but why is there a dress code?
It's a private cruise, high end/highly modified cars, people who are have set themselves apart from others so carring on the same vibe and setting a statement about the cruise.
Anywhere the cruise goes, and we walk out, dress code will say alot ;).
migght not make it to this one, gotta pawn da camera for this mota build :ninjar: we shall seee.

I got the PM Sonny and I believe I have nice cars and I 'live well' but I am a car guy. I install my own suspension. I wire my own subs. I don't do 'dress up'...
So I can't come? All my clothes are jeans or shorts and motorsports/enthusiasts/car/etc t-shirts. I do think my car sets me apart but I still always have a hat on...
I would seriously have to go buy something to come. I can almost guarantee you that a good majority of the best modified cars on this site are people like me and not 'GQ Magazine'. Look at Jordan's car... his car is a BEAST and I don't think I have never seen him not wearing a burton snowboard shirt and his sandals...
Button down and pants will be preferred to set a statement about the cruise, but i am not going to force anyone.
Sorry. Didn't see that first.
Guess I can still come. I don't mind being the odd one out in my 'car guy' apparel ;)

Thanks for the compliment guys. I am trying to make it a regular semi annual event which we all can enjoy, make it our own (Atlanta's original), set a trend for others to look upon, and make our own stamp in the automotive scene. It will only improve with everyone's help and as time goes by.
Stay tuned for another different kind of event coming up in fall of same caliber, if not even better ;).

I know you personally and cool guy, but poke fun in a fun way, not where it turns negative. All this isn't adding anything to this thread or cruise. Leave it where it is, and come enjoy the cruise.
At the same time, when someone post up a car that they considered worthy and you going telling them its not good enough for my video that does still pose a negative comment. Also how are people going to come enjoy the cruise when its tons of driving around rolling shots?

I have yet to make a post saying or replying, "your car isn't worthy". To everyone their car is their pride. I am no one to tell them what their car is worth.
Cruise is suppose to be tons of driving, enjoy the company of other cars. I don't see taking pix of the cruise hurting it any. Plus that where organization of the event comes in :goodjob: .

dress code is nice and all but seriously, how will it be enforced? this is a video about cars not about what people are wearing in their cars. i'd like to see someone tell someone to leave because their shoes aren't up to par. modifying cars isn't what i would call a high class sport.

Dress code isn't enforced, simply asked people to look nice & classy. There will be Camera's rolling while people are walking around and at check points. No one is going to leave if they come up in flip flops or shorts.

Good times tonight. Of course there's never going to be a perfect meet, especially with this many people, but I was happy. For some reason, when you get more than 3 people together people start turning their brains off and can't listen or follow/comprehend simple things. So there was a lot of sitting, and the first two times we got going, we were sitting in our cars for a LONG time after "Alright, let's all head out" was said. But all in all, I have no complaints. I know I couldn't have done it any better, and it just comes with the territory, so I will say I had a great time tonight!
Thanks everyone who put the time, effort, and money into putting this together. I KNOW this took a lot of preparation and work to put together, and I'm sure some pocket change as well. Thanks for the invite, and I'll look forward to doing this again!!

Oh yeah. I had one gripe about tonight, forgot to mention this.
Maybe I am over-reacting, or maybe this didn't bother anyone else.....but I was rather irritated by the attitude of some of the people who were invited. The thing is, people spent a lot of time to put this together, and you were INVITED to join, for YOUR enjoyment. The one thing that the organizer of the FREE event asked, was to follow some rules. On everyone's invitation it said there was a dresscode for tonight. I saw tons of drivers (not camera men, people who were actually invited to join the cruise) who were in t shirts, shorts, and flip flops. I actually HEARD people say "I know there's a dress code, but fuck it."
You didn't HAVE to know about this event, and you didn't HAVE to be invited. I found it very disrespectful for the people who thought it was ok to accept the invitation, but didn't feel they needed to adhere to the rules of it.
Before a shit storm starts, I'm sure there were reasons for certain people not being dressed up (work, lack of time due to your schedule, etc). That will happen. It's the people who just blatantly decided they wouldn't even put an effort into following the dress code for no reason whatsoever that kinda got under my skin.

Following those simple rules goes a long way when dealing with authority figures, especially when something can be seen as being organized in a professional manner.
Also everyone is promoting both themselves and the event with their appearance and many people will be seen on camera outside their cars...those who want to have more high end cars attend, for example those seen at a Caffeine & Octane event, then participants need to step themselves up.
I felt bad about wearing jeans but I spent 3 hours at a camera store in midtown trying to rent a lens for the event, something that should have taken 15 minutes. An address error on my card for the security deposit kept me on the phone for nearly 2 hours with half a dozen phone calls to my bank and visa with them insisting it was corrected and good to go instantly. Three+ hours later it still wouldn't verify in the system through Visa and I was out a lens...leaving me downtown at 5pm on a Friday ha! There was no way I was gonna crawl in traffic 2+ hours home to change clothes and drive back when I was just a few blocks away lol!

If I remember correctly, you were just there for filming, right? Only the drivers were asked to stick to the dress code, as far as I know.

Had a great time and thought it was well organized for the mount of cars out in attendance. With that many cars, there are always going to be stragglers. I really didn't think the event was going to be that long, but had an awesome time for the part I stayed for. Lots of sick cars and can't wait to see some of the coverage!

yeah I love that car. I had the privileged to be 5 feet from his car, shooting it at Import Showdown, on the last showdown run of the day. I definitely needed ear plugs then!

had a good time.. just like everyone else, wish we didn't sit in that first parking lot for sooooooo long. really curious how the vids are gonna turn out. if this were to happen again, i would think a day cruise would be a better idea... or even smarter, would be a sunday morning cruise. it would be hard as hell to get everyone together early in the morning, but there wouldn't so much traffic and driving around would be much easier in such a big group.
shit.. how about we set up a cruise for a sunday morning and all end up in marrietta at the cars and coffee joint?

cool idea bro but caffine and octane ends at 11am so better be a real early cruise. the only down side is finding parking for 30 plus cars in the middle of the event parking lot is full until 10 am

I agree. I would get up early for something organized.
I did have a good time. It was definitely fun. It wasn't that the event wasn't organized. As said there were a decent amount of cars so keeping it all together would not be easy.
However during the day or morning the guys with cameras can really work and get some shots. Can do UWA or really low angles and get multiple cars rolling and such. Would make for much better photos. I really wanted to shoot last night and even had the hardtop off the vert but even with my 2 cameras and good quality glass there was no way I could shoot.
Obviously I have not seen the photos or videos but at night vs day is not going to have to go to the day shots. Including those with cameras.
And yes. Rolling into Caffeine & Octane would be humorous and fun. Might actually get some exotics to come next time asking what the event was :)

Event was fun, I would love to do it again, Just this time more driving and less standing.. It was a good meet, and I thought everyone did a great job of not acting like ass hats.. I thought the dress codes was a little off, 1. Its fucking August, 2. Who needs to be *fly* while driving. I wore a sport coat with jeans and a t-shirt, till it got way to hot..
I'm really suprised we didn't have any Interferance :police: By stopping in that tunnel lolSo yeahhh...I need you to massage my M52 for me
You really suggest the GT3271 over a GT3076R? Or you saying a custom GT32 with a larger housing? The peak power output for a GT3271 is 420. I'd estimate that to be what a GT3076R would put down at 1.3ish bar.

Day cruise is already in works and info coming soon. I wanted this to be night cruise, let it be different, and was hopping for less traffic on why (excuse traffic jam on 85S). I learned a good bit from this, and it will reflect on to next cruise :).
Not all the cars that showed up were invited, i saw few cars I don't remember sending invites to. How they got to know, i have no clue? Cruise was still 10-15 cars down, some people who confirmed didn't come.
Those who followed the dress code thank you very much, some people where coming straight from work like Dan from his shop so understandable, but would have been nice to see few more well dressed. Ladies looked great.
Good to see mostly everyone who came enjoyed it. Once again sorry about the wait at 1st stop. We lost more than half of the cars, few were still missing so was just trying my best for everyone to get there. Point taken tho.

I had a good time and enjoyed seeing some very nice cars and great fellowship. Thanks for the invite, Sunny. I hope I get out to the daytime cruise too.
On another note, I don't see how people could have gotten lost with those directions. They were fairly easy to understand. Few turns were involved, and all of the stops were like *right* off the interstates. Great planning and kudos to you for organizing this shindig.

Great planning and kudos to you for organizing this shindig.I think the main thing was some confused 75 & 85 but the directions were right on, maybe a little small for the seeing impaired but most, if not all, had passengers so shouldn't have been a big deal.
I organized a run to panama city once and took pics of the needed signs on a night pre-run with a point & shoot out the sunroof. The flash works perfect for lighting up interstate signs then simply add the pic pertaining to each line of the directions. This was before GPS was really an option other than a $4k factory option or maybe in a few select rental cars...especially to starving students lol!

Hey now, I would hope Id beat an I/E Mustang in a $37k dollar GXP lol I also think I kept up just fine comparing Ive got only an intake and exhaust, and youve got a 415hp 6.2L LS3. I guess power to weight came into play there.
Im totally up for a good clean run though for fun, I missed 3rd to 4th around that corner, but I wanna see how much youd pull lol I dont get to run too many people in my 4 minute ride to work :lmfao:
