Buddy....exactly how many Audi Sport/Peugoet Total Sport cars particpated in that race?

Matter of fact, how many non Acuras were in the P1 class?

Audi is only taking part in the Sebring 12 and the Le Mans 24 for 2009.

If we are lucky, Petit is a maybe.

For Acura to brag about them winning the class this year is like the C6R crew bragging about their win in GT1. (There is no one else to race)

I was at the least expecting you to explain how the Acura ARX-02a is much better suited towards short circuits like Sebring and that the ultra wide front tires used on the LMP-1 Acura put it at a distinct disadvantage on the Mulsanne straight (where Le Mans is won besides the pits).

Oh btw.....are you also considering the fact that your Acura began life as a French Courage modified by Wirth Research and the only real input Acura has had in this is funding the project and building the powerplant?

I've dealth with race cars (per your description). I'll consider a 1100hp Mustang more of a race car than what i've dealt with, even with fire extinguishing systems, data logging, etc.

It would be a 10, but its not straight-axle or altered wheelbase like a true period correct '60s gasser, and those big slicks are not period correct for A/FX either.

Any A/FX car would have been set up as a gasser. F/X meant "factory experimental" which meant they had license to chop the car however they wanted, and the "gasser" treatment made for better launches before they big slicks were available.

Note how the front end is lifted on a straight axle and the rear wheels are moved forward in these pics:

It was taken in 1964. I don't think there is a solid axel front end on that car like the ones you posted before it. I'm currently looking through Jalopyjournal to see what specs the 1964/1965 cars ran. 1965 really seems to be the first year of the extreme altered wheelbase funny cars. If there were Tbolts with those specs, they would have come in 1965 and not 1964.

That is not a street car. It never was sold as a street car. It has a Mercedes factory race chassis # and run under Mercedes in the DTM.

It is the same thing as the modern Corvette C6R.

I wouldnt say most. think about all the forms of racing like nascar they build each car from the ground up, think about all the cars in NHRA all the top fuel cars, the funny cars. Theres thousands of forms of racing where cars are built from the ground up.
