well supposedly it's a 10 hp difference, 137hp to the crack for obd1.

also, I'm using a p29, which is the ecu that came with the obd1 ZC's. hard to get your hands on if you can find them.

In general obd1 maps have higher resolution and generally run smoother and have better temperature corrections etc. But overall power i doubt theres much difference unless its got more advanced timing.

I agree on all points. Many years ago when i bought the d16 thats in my car i had actually planned on getting a dohc ZC and boosting it. IF i hadnt found the motor ive gotten more than likely id be a ZC head myself.

Wouldn't the z6 be a better value? More aftermarket and run about the same cost, right? Only costs a bit more to get the vtec harness and such. Does the DOHC zc take the d series mounts?

Actually most of the internals are similiar, the dohc zc is basically a dual cam D-series. But yes its easier to find parts since the z6 was a usdm engine and is easier to find replacements for. they both produce similar power also.

it does use the d-series mounts, but you should run the pm7 (iirc) ecu and i believe the accessories are interchangeable.

not really. i get a great on parts from work since our parts manager used to be the parts manager for nally honda. i get a lot of shit 10% below cost, if u listen when i name wats in the motor it's all oem parts except for the rod & main bearing, rod & main bolt, head studs, and the Golden Eagle LS/VTEC kit.

quick $$ break down of the head

*Complet GSR head (Excluding Dizzy)-$300
*Complete brand new 01 ITR valve train w/ keepers, valve seals-$280
*Porting materials-$100
*Glass beading and pressing in new ferrea brass valve Guides (Scott's machine shop)-$175
*Ferrea Valve guide's- $40


Total= $895
