well yeah but besides the point, discomonkey's ls/vtec crx spanks k's and has done it over and over again. That car ran a consitent 11.6 and its never even seen a dyno. Its down now getting upgrades and a fresh painted shell but it will deffinately see 10's when its back out.

For around the same amount of money as i would spend building a gsr( k series does cost more if you go all out), i could get more power with a kseries. ex- you have to get internals oplus bolt ons to get 200hp+ with a bseries where as you can get 200+ with a kseries with just bolt ons.

300 is possible but as paul and i fnd out, k24 block may not be the best route. They cant rev! Theres prob a secret to it bc i did see a dyno chart with someone having 320 hp(k24/k20 head) but 90% of the time, the power band peaks at 7500rpm where as a k20 peaks at 10ish.


Simple bolt ons- rbc IM(260), kpro(1200), headers(200), cold air intake(100-200). Most expensive part is kpro but that comes down every year. This setup can get you around 210hp. Also depending on the brand stuff u get and who tunes it. The only downfall to k series is that it cost more, 8/ BUT- more power. yes you can boost your b series or dseries for that much but im would rather have 300hp NA then 300hp from being boosted.

Cams, valve train, itbs, kpro, kid racing header, inj and fuel pump, good tune-250+. cost- 3000ish so, its all a mater of cash and what deals you find. Lol there are people that have those parts for alot less, so you can actualy do the build for less that 3k.

Old budget racer here, lol. I have yet to see a REAL 800hp Civic that wasn't sponsored by a shop or something roaming the streets. I hear of this and that but you hardly see anything over 350 as a DD in Hondaland. I hear you guys say some guy has 600, 700 or even 800hp, but I have yet to see them honestly. You shouldn't be too stuck on numbers though. Concentrate on functionality and performance. I had a Civic boosted, it was 360ish tuned by CFT. At that time nobody in Ga could get my car to idle, LOL. We've come a long way Ga.....

eh, doubt it. 800hp kseries would take alot of internals plus a good kit. Thats well over 5k. A good turbo kit might put u back arnd 3k for a kseries but i still wouldnt push it past 11psi. You may get 300-320. Im not one to push a stock block though, lol. ( i havent even boosted anything before, just heard stories)

Not to mention i thnk NA is more reliable unless you build your motor- but then you run into the cash problem, 8/. NA kseries is better that NA bseries. Yes boost is fun but to get those types of numbers- not practical for dd, and ur wallet. Lol- drag car then most def.

I don't have a cage so whenever I run my first run is always my last, LOL. 10's require a roll bar and I am not going to ruin the interior for that, although if I had another car, LOL. My buddies in NC want me to get mine into the 9's, then they'd really be pissed whenever I run a 9 without a roll bar, haha. But who and where are these other 10 second imports? Why do they not come out or anything? not saying there aren't any, just curious why they don't come out and where they ran these 10's, to find out they were 10sec cars. I ran mine at the Fayetteville 1/4, every first Friday is "Freaky Friday." Fun stuff, also in Orlando, but felt embarassed whenever the 9sec cars came out, LOL....Since my rebuild I have been running 11s though to keep it safe, cause I spent too much on the rebuild, ouch, fixin broke shit hurts....

montgomery dont kick you off for not having a cages, last year there was hatches without them running high 9's and 10 flats they dont even inspect your car, as long as its not a huge event reynolds will let you get away with it too, my boy blake was running consitent 10.80's at one of the importshowdowns and they didnt say a word. Commerce is a different story, 13.9 and faster you need a helmet, 11.49 and faster you need a cage, you can have any leaks of any sort, missing lug nuts its rediculous!

Various reasons man. They don't like the scene in Columbus, some don't like street racing, others just have families to deal with and just drive their cars like twice a year. Others are just done with dealing with the wanna be tough guys and little kids that like to start stuff at get togethers. Everyonce in a while you may see them driving around town though.

For instance I know one dude named Mike with a white 3000GT that's been in the 10s. I saw him run a 10.7X with my own eyes at Palm BIR in Florida. He used to stay near Beaver Run. Why doesn't he come out? The dude is 47 with a wife and kids, lol. He also used to have a red civic that ran an 11.0X back in 06. Then there's Eric with a black Evo with a roll cage. He's in the Army. He used to stay off Forest Rd. I have no idea why he doesn't come out, but then again I haven't seen him since I had my 240.....

As for the others, I either don't know them personally or I've just "heard" rumors of them running 10s. I remember back a few years ago there was a black dude with a Supra that was bad as heck. I haven't seen him since I was in college though, lol. Don't forget, even though you don't see 10 second imports out there, that doesn't mean there aren't any around. But 10 second muscle cars are a different story. Those are all over the place.....

Not trying to break, and I was bracket racing. and I was shifting 7800 instead of 9000 Power band stops at 8500. I wasnt launching I was rolling off the start line. (No spinnin due to this) My 60ft were 2.5, and the one time I did try for a best time during qualifying I launch and had a 1.8 60ft but missed 3rd. And I dont miss gears very often, so I just said f it and drove it easy.:goodjob: But my best time runnin like I did was a 14.8. So I guesstimate a 14.3 or 4 on a full run. Not bad for 2750lbs with me in it.

On our way back down i saw a little cliff (30-35ft) and somehow thought i could jump off of it, latch onto a tree and climb down the tree (taking a shortcut!)

So - i did, and actually hit the tree i was aiming for (thank goodness). I couldn't stop my slide down the tree trunk though. Tore the insides of my arms wide open. hahahaha! Arms were killing me, so i couldn't sleep.

it was fun though :)
