I can almost watch the gas gauge move if I dig at low speeds and break tires loose.

Otherwise it's rated at about 25-27mpg hwy.

That totally didn't tell me how far he drove...LoL

All I know is I WAS pulling about 60-70$ for a tank when gas was around 4$/gal. And I'd expect with gas at about 2$/gal, I'd run about a 30, maybe 35$ tank, now. It'll pull about 270miles to a tank...but that math is done with highway driving with me getting into it with an AMG and making good time from SC to home.

12-14-2008, 08:50 PM
Yes, yes you do. Damn mustang drivers anyhow. They'll never learn the glory of a quick honda :) lol. Ben you of course, SHOULD know, and would have NEVER gone mustang had you been true to hondas lol. Esp when the new civics are rather quick box stock, yet you still, went for a stang. You should have just boosted your hatch.

Mustangs hate me up here!! lol

In mixed driving I'm averaging 29 mpg fairly consistently.

EvasiveEF9
12-14-2008, 10:08 PM
LoL. I bought the mustang because I always said I'd own an american muscle. It's new age, but the stang is an american muscle car. Let me take you for a spin before you hate. I'll own another honda. Would you believe that I'm actually having a real hard time convincing myself to build another EF or buy a supercharger? The mustang is already quick, but I wanna outrun my buddy's SRT4. Once I do that, I'll be satisfied. He turns highly respectable numbers. Especially if you give him room to boost and run. Car is MEANT for drag, and is BUILT for highway pulls. On the other hand, I could use a second vehicle to lower insurance and get better gas mileage.

I like the new civics...but not enough to own one. I'm too loyal to the F generation. I thought about it when I was car searching, btu I was like "I can replace my civic with another civic..." so I decided to lat move.

My truck was getting 14mpg's. Now after adding an intake it's gone up to a modest 16-17mpg.

88 crx 325k on the original motor. only mods cold air kit and larger exhaust and a set of e3 spark plugs

Averaging around 35 mpg with playing around. If I drive like an old fart I get 39.75 mpg.

my 92 jeep cherokee around 15mpg no mater how I drive. It could be the 3" tube bumpers front and rear or the roof rack.

my 96 accord v6 around 20mpg.

'90 HF with 321,000 miles. Bone stock, super restricted, has lots of little leaks but still runs great everyday.

Average 38-42 in town depending on how I drive that tank of gas.
45+ on the highway.
Truthfully it probably should get better mileage being an HF but it's old and I never took the time to tidy all the small stuff up I've just been enjoying it too much.

What motor and trans are you running??

If your running the B16 trans you can't fix it with out doing gear changes in the trans.

I'm assuming you probably are, because with my B16 I had it was the same deal. If your not worried about losing power, throw an LS trans in it. Its not A LOT better, but better all the same.

4k @ 85 is an LS trans. What engine? RPMs are not inherently bad, you might try simply slowing down some.

car probably has appoxemitely 370000 miles, 40-45mpg (was 30 but then i cleaned/soaked the o2 sensor with gas for a night to try to fix it, well it didnt but mileage shot up higher) primarily driving on base, rarely drive more than 5 miles a trip unless i go off base. never been on highway trips so not sure what that is, probably 50+. car is a 93 civic vx
