Hey i have a 97 civic it has rebuilt motor D16Y8 head with D16Z6 Block Y8 internals. I have a brand new stage 2 clutch, 12 lbs flywheel, brand new motor and trans mounts, fully aligned. The car shakes violently when i am taking off in 1st gear, sometimes when i shift into 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and not so much 5th. When i downshft it does it as well. If i go into lets say 3rd from second and hold the clutch in then ease off as the shifter is into 3rd it shakes. It seems that if i ease off the clutch it'll vibrate badly. Can anyone give some tips or helpful information i would greatly appreciate it thanks alot! Please help lol im so lost

Bearings would when you put more weight on them. Turning etc.

Thats understandable but idk its crazy it cant be that, because its when i take off in 1st like the engine completely chatters violently, only when im letting off the clutch never when im rolling

How new are the motor mounts?and are they oem honda?Check the front upper drivers side mount it might be broken.Your having common symthoms of a broken motor mount.

how did you fill your tranny fluid? did you pump it from the drain hole, or did you actually fill it from the fill hole on the side of the case and allow any excess to drain out from the fill hole before plugging it up?

if i understand you correctly this always happens as you are engaging and/or disengaging the clutch.

i had a similar problem once and it was b/c the quick lube place re-filled my trans from the drain hole and overfilled it. the excess fluid seeped out the output shaft bearing and soaked my clutch and pp causing it to chatter violently when engaging/disengaging. a motor mount broke at the same time either by coincidence or b/c the motor kept rocking so badly from the clutch issue.

my vote is bad clutch/pp possibly from too much fluid and/or broken motor mount.

x2 that would be the first thing I check. Also check the bushing on the shift linkage itself.

this was happening to a friend of mine and it turned out when we installed his axles the snap ring didnt catch. they were mated together and all it just didnt want to stay. we just pulled the axle and replaced the snap ring. no problems. oh and refilled his tranny cause all the fluid leaked out

Im going with your mounts, a lot of people dont change thier mounts, which it is recommended that you do, no matter if you think they are still good, its saves you the trouble down the road.

Are the flywheel bolts all tightened correctly if not a lightweight flywheel can really rattle but just a idea

Its probably the shitty oem driverside mount, all 96-00 civics bust that mount after time.
I would recommend buying the innovative driver side mount, if thats the problem.

jus sold my 89 accord and i had the same problem it was wheel hubs the bearings were shot.. couldnt tell anything was wrong unless u engaged the clutch the extra pull is wat caused them to bind and shake like a fat woman chasin a twinkie
