maybe someone knows if this is true or not, but i heard the lions will be pursuing michael vick in the off season. man im pushing for vick after all he has been through, he deserves a second shot. he was not a bad QB, i seen him make some great on the money throws and its not his fault if his weak supporting cast drops the ball. besides its people out there doing far worse things than him. this whole situation was overkill, so i hope he rises above all the haters.

I'm not one of these people who thinks Vick should be killed because of his actions, but I will say that he deserved every bit of time he served (and then some). I just hope he's learned his lesson and turned his previously garbage life around. To have such a gift of athleticism and then jeopardize it by participating in stupid (and highly fucked up) activities...
Whatever, I'm glad we got Ryan :)

yeah im happy for ryan as well, and yeah i dont think dog fighting is cool, because i have seen this this take place out in the country and its crazy. but how much was vick really involved in this, i have not seen any video or photo evidence. but yeah he is paying his debt to society so i think he deserves to come back and earn his living. i cant stand folks who still asking for his head, you know.

I agree with this as well. Let him pay his debt and, if he's truly repentant, let him be. But Vick is purely responsible as it was his property. Just like riding in a car with occupants. If your passenger does throws something out the window or is disruptive to an illegal extent, then the driver is ultimately responsible. Later, QD.

ive said this all along, he WILL play in the NFL again. Do the falcons still own his contract? if they do, they will try to get top dollar for him i bet.
I cant see him being a QB though, i think hes going to end up as a wide receiver if he fails at his next QB job.
Personally i think he will go play european ball for a season to see if hes still got it. then he will come back to the NFL.

oh and he was an idiot and deserved all this IMO.
He was a MILLIONAIRE, why would you associate yourself with these kind of illegal and inhumane activities.
it was like Allen Iverson getting caught with guns and weed, in his BENTLEY. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to crawl out of the slums and be a millionaire set for life and still tote illegal firearms and drugs.

You can get out of the hood, but you can't get the hood out of you lol. When someone grows up with that lifestyle it never changes.
And with Vick, the guy got what he deserved plain and simple. I think he should be allowed to return, he really is one of the greatest athletes to play the game. It would be interesting to see him with the new and improved Falcons, but I think Atlanta has definitely moved on for the better. And the Lions wanting him wouldn't surprise me, but they are going to need a lot more than Vick to save their asses. It was terrible to see that happen to him, however it was worse to see that he was dumb enough to involve himself with something so stupid.

Send Calvin Johnson down and they can have Vick.. absolutely.
I think he'll end up with the Raiders though.. in a dream world I wish he would go to Tampa Bay but Atlanta would never allow that.

if you are trying to say this was racially motivated you are barking up the wrong tree.
You do know this wasnt just about Dog Fighting right? there was illegal gambling too. This was not just 1 incident, this was an ORGANIZED ring of thugs.
JULY 17--NFL star Michael Vick was indicted today on a federal conspiracy charge for his alleged role in a dog fighting venture that operated from a Virginia property owned by the Atlanta Falcons quarterback. A copy of the indictment, filed today in U.S. District Court in Richmond, can be found below. The 27-year-old Vick, whose nickname is listed as "Ookie" in the indictment, allegedly established the Bad Newz Kennels in early-2001 in Smithfield, Virginia. It was this property, for which Vick paid $34,000, that the star athlete and his codefendants used as the "main staging area for housing and training the pit bulls involved in the dog fighting venture and hosting dog fights." According to prosecutors, Vick and his cohorts began purchasing pit bull puppies in late-2001 and would eventually "sponsor" individual dog fights with purses as high as $26,000. In the indictment's most harrowing parts, federal investigators describe what happened to some Bad Newz Kennels dogs that either lost matches or did not perform well in test fights. After a March 2003 loss by a female pit bull, codefendant Purnell Peace, "after consulting with Vick," electrocuted the animal. In April, prosecutors allege, Vick, Peace, and Quanis Phillips, "executed approximately 8 dogs that did not perform well in 'testing' sessions." These animals, the indictment claims, were killed "by various methods, including hanging, drowning, and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground."

A dog is a phucking petty animal! There is no way you can justify amost 2 years in jail, stripped of your rights, for "being involved in dog fights & illegal gambling"!
Were any peopel hurt? Would you consider him a threat 2 society? If T.I. Can get off, then any ni99a can get off. They made an example out of him, but that don't make it right.
And vick WILL play QB, and fucking dominate at that. His attorney said he we benching 460 when he saw him last... that monkey is gunna be playing like his freedom depends on it!

If it was A dog, you might be right about his time served. But it wasn't just A animal. He deserved everything he got. And to you, life may not be that precious for other species but, thank goodness, you don't run the part of government that handles this stuff.
BTW, TI didn't get off. He served time as well. Some people really need to get off the Vick Dick. I'm not against Vick at all. I hope he makes a return to the NFL. And I hope he does well. Yeah I'm definitely going to have to disagree.
Of course he's not the absolute best right now, but in time he's going to be a beast. But even now I'd say he's doing pretty damn good. The Falcons have a rookie QB starting and they have a winning record. Yeah he's horrible...

Ray (not Jamal) Lewis got obstruction of justice with regards to the murder case. Each player that breaks the law should be treated the same and dealt with accordingly.
However, Vick bankrolled the dogfighting, and killed multiple dogs (which can get you 5 years EACH DOG). He then failed a drug test, which was one of the few requirements he had from the judge. What a fucking MORON! He should have been happy with his millions upon millions of legitimate dollars, but he threw it away.
He isn't some guy that just happened to have a couple bulldogs and see if they would fight, and killed one. He was a big part of an illegal gambling operation. He got off LUCKY. He deserves NOTHING. He should be extremely grateful that he could get a chance at all to play in the NFL.

Are you really serious? You talk about someone riding cock...you seem to have a kung-fu grip on M. Vick's...
If Ryan is decent, then what is Michael Vick? He had more time on the bench then Ryan got, and still couldn't run a consistent offense. I think it's funny that once he was gone Roddy white had a breakout year, with Joey Harrington throwing him the ball. Vick was a great athlete, but came up waaaay short as an NFL QB. Good Riddance! first off, a offense consistency is not necessarily based on the QB, it can be coaching, surrounding players and ryan has seen just how inconsistent the falcons can be when the pressure is intense(panthers, buccaneers, eagles game.). if vick was not a NFL capable QB, then he would not have gotten drafted so high(or drafted as a QB), made all this money in endorsements, and a big NFL contract. come on man its common sense, a sorry ass QB would not be making bank like vick. and about the cock riding? lol i did not come on here praising around like vick is this and that, now did i? alright now sit down.

Common sense would tell you that a players salary does not always reflect his play on the field. When you have a GM like Rich Mckay you tend to overpay for mediocre talent. And wtf does endorsements have to do with anything? Brady Quinn has endorsements, and what has he done in the NFL?

As much promise as Vick had, he was OVERRATED. He was far from the most accurate QB in the NFL when he played. He got all of those endorsements because when a play fucked up he could just run it 50 yards. He is one of the best athletes to ever play, but Ryan will be a much better QB. Everyone rides Vick's nuts because if you look at the crazy runs he would make he seems much better than he really is. Ryan is overrated too, but Vick would not have done as well had he started right out of college. Ryan isn't that special, but he probably will be in a couple years. After Vick's stupid mistake we had to get a new franchise player to represent Atlanta, and Ryan will fill Vick's shoes and more imo. If we can improve our running game (namely by not picking a stupid ass run play everytime) then Vick will be a thing of the past.

i dont think ryan will necessarily fill vicks shoes because of how much vick amped up the franchise and that QB position, but he will be heard down in atlanta. i dont think vick was necessarily overrated, but he was not mediocre, chad pennington, david carr, joey herrington now those guys are mediocre.

Ryan won't generate the same excitement, but personally I would rather see the Falcons win. Granted Vick didn't have as good of a team to work with, but he was pretty inconsistent. Like I said, his athleticism was his strong point, not his actual skill as a QB. I was and still am a big fan of Vick, but I'd be very willing to bet Ryan will surpass what Vick was within a few years as a QB. Only time will tell I suppose.
And as for Vick going to Detroit, I would hate to see that. He needs to be put on a good team so he can fully develop his skill and decision making as a QB. When he was with us he had to do too much to support the team, and I think that might have held him back.

I think it's Daunte Culpepper that the Lions want.

yeah i hear what you saying about him having to do so much which probably was not so good for him or any player to have to do. i think adrian peterson is one of those athletes as well thats going to be expected to do too much cause the vikings be running him alot.
