It would serve a purpose if your civic is slammed and it just happened to break down and you gotta get it towed. Whats the roll back wrecker gonna hook it too?? your stock tow hitches and rip the bottom of your bumper or your lip!
It would serve a purpose for me cause i cant even get a honda scissor jack under my hatch!

I agree on being to low and in need of a tow and wishing the front bumper/lip would stay safe.Tow hooks are cool but only if you actually have a "USE" for them.
:goodjob:

Honda-Tech has alot of photos, here is just one(not mine).

You got oem tow hooks, why you need more? Plus, you gotta cut into the bumper to install one.

Exactly why I don't have one on the front and the rear works fine

This is what gives tow hooks a bad name, imo. Tow hooks are supposed to be for track cars.

My stock tow hooks look like an L. My driveway has ate them up and bent them! Planning on getting a lip and i would like to have a front tow hook just incase. I wouldnt mind cutting a little slice in my bumper to mount one but i damn sure wouldnt do that to an ef9 bumper!:D

If you worry about your front bumper...pull it on the flatbed from the rear...LoL

I had one on the rear. Never REALLY needed it. Thought I'd need it more than I actually did. Good for show, though.

this is my too hook, well more like a strap.

it's a 3,500lbs test strap w/ a 5,000lbs test C clamp securing it to the factory tow hook. i cut a little square in my home depot lip and bam i got a tow hook/strap.

Ha good luck, your tow hook will work great until you actually go to put it on a flatbed and still tear off your front bumper and hang on your front crossmember

Ever done a mountain run and seen a car go over the edge? I have. Kid's a good driver, just mis-calculated a curve. He was well experienced with that run, too. Don't say you're too good to mess up...

Point is, he went down nose-first. Had to be pulled from the rear. Couldn't pull the front. I could very easily see a car spinning and going down tail first. However, I don't see the bumper cover being your biggest concern, at that point.

Lol you keep posted stupid stuff. Were looking at the [what if] factors!!! Just say the light ef hit some standing water and did a 180 into a ditch. Then how would you get to the rear tow hook! you couldnt so u would have to pulled out by the front tow hooks!!

Ok, I can see what your saying about access to the stock tow hook location with a lip etc, my car for example
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff114/mugen_racer91/Parking%20deck/4.jpg
But even if you get an aftermarket front tow hook, when they pull it onto the truck, you will still kiss your lip good bye  I've had my car towed before I put my front lip on and it still dragged the bumper(no lip), and front cross member. I now carry a Philips head and a 10mm socket to take the bumper off in case of a towing situation. ;) Some track org. required an external front tow hook, in case of an engine failure, etc, in which the just hook a strap to you and literally tow you back to the pits.

Dude are you retarded? And BTW, yours isn't lower than slow_hatch's. Plus, i would imagine you dont have the correct suspension setup to even allow for such a low ride height to even be a performance improvement. Lower isn't always better unless you've got the correct spring rates and shortened shocks or extended tophats, not to mention any camber correction. But since lower is better maybe i'll just go take my sleeves & perches off completely

It's funny, probably about a year ago, he decided he wasn't gonna be mean, anymore, but most of IA appealed the idea. So many people have come through doing the "later, _____" though like he did, and to date, I don't think anyone's continued it.

That honestly sounds better than running a tow hook!.:goodjob:
If your car needs to be towed and it is "slammed" just easily remove the bumper cover and then you will have access to the factory tow hooks.
I like the idea of taking the few minutes to uninstall the bumper cover rather then having to watch my lip be ripped off my front bumper.
