I made this thread for the true motor racings fans on this site. We all appreciate great race tracks around the world like Spa, Nurburgring, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. But there is one race track that almost never gets mentioned but those that know about it, will instantly recognize it as one of the greatest in the world. Located in Victoria Australia, it is home to the greatest touring car race in the world; The Bathurst 1000. Now in its 48th year, it continues the traditional war known as Holden Vs. Ford.

Awesome thread! Bathurst is amazing. Mount Panorama is probably the coolest venue for a race in the world. The cars are so fast and the track is so tight. Going to Australia and watching a V8 supercar race is something I would love to do. Thanks for the link!

2 more serious crashes have occurred since OP. It is so bad that this year might have the fewest ever starters.

I do think that the Holden Racing Team is determined to win more than anyone this year.

badass, man you know everything about every type of racing haha.

I try. You should watch it. The people watching from on top of the mountain make Road Atlanta campers look boring.

Great write-up!

I missed this because I'm not logging to IA as much as I used to, so I didn't find out about it until now.

Bathurst is really fun race to watch. The lack of runoff room make all the dicing for position more "interesting."

Damn, I missed all of it. This past weekend I was in E-town NJ watching the 1st ever Outlaw FWD shoot out and it was incredible. My pick would have been ford and appears that they have won it. I dont get shit for racing on TV, I dont even get speed. :(

Great post for me though, that is some carnage there on the track! That track is for the fearless.
