I'm just against breeding since me & my wife work in animal rescue. I see ALOT of perfectly good dogs get put down in shelters from overbreeding/backyard breeders. Think about it, you stud your male & there is a litter of 5 puppies. That single litter has the potential to produce 125 more dogs in 1 yr 6 months. It just saddens me to see people breeding animals strictly for profit.

Once they get bigger and the owner no longer has a "need" for it to roll around in thier Escalade and make them look cool they just "get rid" of the dog. Usually ends up in a foster/rescue group or the pound to be put down.

I know that this happens to every other breed out there. Who doesnt? And me & my wife do work on the side for an animal rescue group.

Asking me to keep my thoughts to myself is not going to shut me up on topics I feel strongly about. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. I could care less if you dont want to hear mine, really. Your posting on a public forum anything is up for conversation. If you are wanting to discuss things of this nature I would advise doing it somewhere else. But thats my opinion.

Are your dog's hips checked? and I mean xrays taken and certified by a vet to not have dysplasia...if not, then you're just breeding to breed....if you're going to breed do it for the BETTERMENT of the breed, not just because you can! That's stupid..that's why we're seeing more and more and more and more dogs with problems. If people would pay attention and get dogs fixed that have these issues, the dog population would be MUCH better off............. Is she healthy enough to even be bred in the first place? Has the male had his hips checked and certified? If not then DON'T PUT HER THROUGH breeding.......

If you are breeding for the betterment of the breed and not for money these are things you have to look into. I'm not against breeding in this way. I'm against people who are uneducated (in breeding properly) backyard breeders. Hell the husky that I have came from a breeder I'll admit that. But I have no plans to breed him so I had him neutered.

den 3 days later it got worse and i went back and got it docked ..

I'm not going to go off on a rant because I deal with negligent people all day. Simply put, your'e adding to an already prevalent problem. In accordance to metro-atlanta statistics, your pitt will have an average of 6 pups in her litter. 4 will end up homeless by age 3 in a shelter, likely to be put down. The other will be used for fighting or better yet end up neglected/abused and the 6th will go to a mediocre home. I know you'll probably rebutt with some half wit comment about how you plan on defying statistics and thats fine. But those are the facts.
Also, to show how little you know, only 3 of the 67 GA shelter have an exclusive DNA policy (do not adopt) on Pitts. The rest put them down because how often and how fast they come into shelters.

ARE YOU BREEDING HIM/HER FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE BREED, OR JUST TO GET PUPPIES TO SELL/GIVE TO FRIENDS?

Oops, I didn't read that last one before my post.

Good choice man. But remember, just because a dog is beautiful doesn't mean it's right to breed it. Professional, responsible dog breeders never come out making money, they do it for love of the breed - BUT they have the certifications and bloodlines to back up their breeding.

If you really want to breed dogs sometime in the future, I'd suggest trying to meet up with someone who breeds dogs and see what it actually entails. It's not cheap or easy.

shes healthy ..
if there was any signs of threat to my dog or anything im sure the vet would of told me ..
and yes i did get her x rayed and there was no signs of any abnormal tissue or anything ..
