Any B swap will be reliable if it's done correctly.

www.TigerJapanese.com (http://www.tigerjapanese.com/) Go with a JDM B20b..They have good prices on motors and tranny's of all kinds! They have a good B20b right at $600 and a B18b right at $800.

b series ftw. can't go wrong with any of them really. it boils down to what your goal is on this car though. are you trying to build a beast or a daily driver?

d15b7 for me has been the most reliable honda motor so far...if you know what you are doing you shouldn't have a problem with them

All depends on how it is done... Any motor can really be dependable if done right. But doing it right=more money... so what is the budget?

any motor is reliable, depending on how you build it and if you know how to put it in correctly.

Just get a jdm b20b 99-00 spec...cheap and easy swap. They are rated at 146 hp and 133 ft-lbs torque. I would use a gsr tranny.

I'd say a K20 EK would be the most reliable. Unless you could get a Fit's 1.5L in an EG or CRX. :D

I would say gsr, or type r depending on the money you are looking to spend. Also try Hmotorsonline, you get what you pay for, and I have gotten many motors from them all flawless. They even take certain sensors off to prevent damage during shipment, and if something is screwed up they will send you a new one.

Tiger Jap is hit or miss, I have seen motors run great, then I have seen them not run at all or smoke like a freight train.

NAD auto local is a good place also.

I wouldn't think it would be much different than doing a B18 swap.

so mounts and jumper harness:???:

greasemunkey
08-10-2008, 09:52 PM
and axles edit, don't do a jumper harness just get a b-series harness and hook it up to a b20 ecu, not sure if d-series has all the right hook ups for b-series, but safe to say you will have to get a b20 or ls ecu
