This is a month away, so there better be no excuses as time nears.

If y'all want to grill out, let me know what all you want to bring, I will update the original post as we go. I believe they have grills there (Correct me if I am wrong) Bring some swimming trunks, and what-not. Also, I beleive it's pay to park, so bring some cash with you.

yes there are grills there. Its 3 bucks per car to get in. We need to pick the spot in the park to meet. Im thinking that the back where the "beach" is would be good. LOTS of parking, grills, bathrooms, etc.

About 15 of us old skool car guys and girls came out, but there were only 6 or 7 people there when we got there. We cooked out and hung around untill 9:00. 30 minutes after we got there all of the Athens people left. We had fun with our gang.

I am in neither. I am 2 miles from Hwy 78 and Hwy 53. I can cut across 53 and be in Winder in 12 minutes. My physical addy is Monroe but another couple 100 feet I'd be in Watkinsville or Bethlehem.

I think that would be an awesome idea but I have nothing show worthy. I'd be more than happy to attend any meets out there and bring a few of the rides with us. When is their monthly car show? I have never heard of a car show in Winder.

What shop do you work at?
I'm not talking about a "real car show" for IA peeps, but it's a nice friendly place with great BBQ and if we can have a Winder area or a combination of areas meet on a week night once a month, the owner will file the correct paperwork with the city of auburn to close the road for us to park and hang out. We would probably need about 25 cars to make it worth their while, but It could be the beginning of a great monthly meet that could grow into something bigger.

I own a small shop in Auburn called Zero Nostalgic Japanese Streetfighters. We specialize in Old Skool paint, restoration, engine swaps, and O/S cars for sale.

As far as the muscle car show, It is in Auburn at the BBQ joint, and I think it's the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of the month. they usually have about 30 nice old cars some motorcycles and occasionally an import car or two. It looks like about 50 to 60 spectators. They award trophys to the class winners and have a DJ and and give away door prizes. It's a cool small local show.

I hope we can pull off another Saturday afternoon meet some time with you guys, Our shop is in Auburn, so I'd consider us Winder or Athens area. Also all of you guys seem to be pretty tight and joke and cut up alot on your threads. I think thats great. It seems that too many people on IA take themselves too seriously, and forget that the whole purpose of meets are to, have fun, and meet people that have an interest in cars.

Thats the way it always goes man. Hell, I was 30 minutes later than I wanted to be, and it was only me and one dude meeting up, but thats a long story involving "drifting":lmfao: and a meeting with an unxepected culvert on the side of the road...lol (none of that was me, I just witnessed it, hence my passenger in the accord).

I can only speak for myself, but I don't take anything seriously online, or in person for that matter, but, most of us are like that around the Athens area anyway.
