R&R Fuel Pump
1. Relieve fuel pressure.
2. Remove the fuel tank.
3. Remove the fuel pump mounting nuts.
4. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
actually you dont have to remove the fuel tank. i'm pretty sure it has a access panel like it did on my 92 prelude. its either under the back seat, or under the carpets in the trunk. there should be a panel. you can uninstall and install it back in from there.

there is something under the bak seat but dont know how to take it out but im not sure if thats what it is it wouldnt start at all but when we sprayed gas in the tb itt started an i had to keep sprayin just to keep it running what could that be i know someone here will know i need help asap
You can remove the panel by just plying it out with a flat head.
have you changed the fuel filter? if its clogged gas cant get to your engine. check your fuel pressure too. Also try turning your key to ON position. if your fuel pump is alive you should hear a humming noise. check the voltage thats going to the fuel pump too. it should be 12v.

did you check on your new fusebox to make sure that all of the fuses are correct? And not blown? Double check EVERYTHING you have touched... it may be something little and simple.
Don't actually turn the car OVER to her the pump... just turn it to the II position (like you would to turn your radio on). You should hear a low hum/buzz that's the fuel pump priming.
Have you checked your starter/injectors/spark plugs? If your car just randomly stopped running, there's a plethora of things it could be.
I would check your injectors to make sure they're clean, especially if it's not staying running without added gas.
Where exactly are you spraying the gas in?

Well still double check for disconnected/loose wires... no matter how many times you do something, there's ALWAYS the chance you will accidentally miss something.
Check your injectors and check to see if you're getting spark by arcing the plug wires.

Not sure how to actually test and see if they're bad, but I'm sure no_mo_hondas has a trick for you to test em.
I usually pull em out just to check and see if there's anything obviously wrong with them (buildup)

I was saying google search for a way to test injectors for function.
check fuel pressure from the fuel line first. i doubt its your injectors since your engine do crank when you spray Gas in the TB. also check your fuel pressure regulator.

fuel filter could be blocked, or anywhere else in the fuel system could have a blockage
EDIT: or, the injector(s) could be bad/stuck closed

If you think you can do it, then start by taking the fuel rail AND injectors off as one large unit and point the injectors into the atmosphere and/or put down a towel or something to absorb the gas, and just turn the key to see if the fuel pump will pump. If it does, and you see or smell gas squirt from the injectors, then the injectors are GOOD and you've got no blockage.

alright will do but what could stop the sparks from gettin gas
teh_mugen18
06-14-2008, 11:20 AM
And then if you have gas spraying/squirting the way its supposed to, and the car still wont crank, then what you do is check the timing.

Bad ignition coil i'd say is probably the biggest thing. Back when MY teggy was cuttin out on me, i changed out the igntion coil and it werked good again.
Basically, just open up the dizzy and inspect everything to make sure it looks good, and make sure all connections are clean, make sure everything's tight, and make sure that all the contact points/electrical terminals are touching like they're supposed to.

There's not supposed to be gas on the plugs. There's supposed to be electric current going to them which is why I told you to check the wires by arcing them against your valve cover.

Yeah, cuz if you get gas ON the plugs to the point where you can feel them wet, then the plugs are probably already ruined.

So, what does it sound like y'all?
It starts and revs when you spray gas through the TB, but as soon as you stop doing THAT, it cuts off.

he still hasn't told us if his injectors are functioning.
Or if he hears the fuel pump coming on.
Or if he has spark from the dizzy.
Or if he went back and double checked all of his connections from his fusebox.
Why do I even bother helping people on here? Go to the honda dealership next time if you want help.

No reason to upgrade injectors unless you need it. Just stay stock and replace your injectors. Done.
Tell him he's welcome for the help.

since one of them popped, that means fuel pressure = good.
which means fuel pump = good.
so only thing(s) left is the injectors.

You neglected to mention the car is boosted.... what ECU program are you running?
teh_mugen18
06-14-2008, 12:21 PM
So, apparently its more than just a simple air/fuel/spark equation then, correct?

It may still be injectors, but being boosted brings in a whole new set of problems it can be.

They should just kinda pop right in place....

So, apparently its more than just a simple air/fuel/spark equation then, correct?correct because its gettin spark it ran fine last week an then my axel broke an the batt wire to the fuse box under the hood had messed up so i got an new fuse box hooked everything back up the way it was supossed to go

on the wiring harness? Take the little metal paper clip part out of it, and just slide the plug onto the injector. It'll still work fine without the little retaining clip

I do try (on the cool as hell part).
Clean your injectors, siphon your gas out, put in about a gallon of gas with a fuel treatment additive, and run it.. I was about to tell you to seafoam your whole system, but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to seafoam turbo engines.
