for everyone who does not know what BBK means....

Big Brake Kit

there is a guy over on maxima.org who sells a bracket to install 300z tt 30mm calipers on stock +04 maxima rotors
Welcome To BlehmCo (http://www.mattblehm.com/)
since SE-R rotors and calipers are the same as +04 maxima.............:D

i needed to do front and rears so,

300z tt 30mm calipers
slotted and drilled front and rear rotors from rotorpros.com
bracket and front 300z SS lines
+04 maxima SS lines (rears are longer than ours)
since I wanted to keep my SE-R setup and not paint it, I bought a set of rear calipers.
Now, all 4 calipers I bought came "fully loaded", meaning pads were included.
Amsoil DOT 3 brake fluid.

This project took me alot longer than I thought it would. I am not savy on brakes...I mean i can swap rotors and pads....but the ss line changeout was... annoying...a pain... grrrrrrr :tongue1:

and lets not get me started on bleeding brakes...:banghead:
:smileowne

Adding performance and a great look, I love the look that the rotors give behind the wheels.... goodjob bro:goodjob:

now that is using your head upgrade brakes before going faster
cause later it might be to late

300z calipers are 4 piston............. :tongue1:

how is that not a big brake upgrade?

Cause i have a 300zx and i did a BBK other day with 13" rotors :-D... So yes 11" isn't really BBK but it is a nice upgrade. Looks great btw.

my rotors are 12.6 in...............

haha!!

i could have used the braket jeff makes for the 13 in cobra rotors... but i figured i had pieced together alot already

i see your point... it is an upgrade to me though....

depending on how cheap you can find things...

+04 maxima rotors/SE-R altima front rotors are the same thing $100 or so
300z tt 30mm calipers... $100-$200
bracket and SS lines $200

i needed to do my whole setup...
rotors for me on all 4 corners were $200
you can find rear SS lines for $45-$50

if you have the rotors already, you could piece this together for as little as $300 (fronts only)

i did my whole setup for about 7 bills (and that was replacing EVERYTHING)

nicely done, but calipers don't cover the full rotor surface? I see a good bit of gap.

Yeah, that area with no pad contact is essentially just wasted unsprung weight.

Regardless, the setup looks T!TS.

hence no performance gain by rotors other than loss. Going looks wise setup looks awesome.

not sure what to tell you... those pads on the 300z calipers are bigger than my stock pads..

there is a difference in braking.... believe me...

you been making me think about this.........

i just did some searching and the maxima guys are all the same... the lower section of the rotor looks like mine..

True, but it will also dissipate heat better, and the bigger radius will give it more stopping power regardless.

that's DEF better than what you had, but that setup isn't up to it's full potential. As you can also see there is unused rotor, and this is very common when you piece your own BBK. None the less better than before. Is there any more more room between the caliper and end of the rotor?

I had those brakes on my S14. That thing stopped on a dime. Looks good. I would be interested to see if you could get the Brembos on the last gen SER to bolt up.

those are not 300zx rear calipers, just so you know. In case someone sold them to you as 300zx rears.

non brembo z rear calipers/rotors bolt right up.

the front brembos do bolt up with some modification (slight)

they'll be the 30mm rotors and aluminum calipers, could be front and rear but i'm not sure yet, still gotta save up a little more. i guess it'll be whichever i get a better deal on..
