i've seen so many threads of guys saying they are whipped by their girlfriend, wife, etc. and then there are guys like show her who wears the pants.

oh come the **** on, everyone knows that over half the guys on here are whipped. so admit it. who's whipped and who's not whipped?

and what's sad, if you are whipped, you probably like it.

Fuck no.

The man wears the pants and the man tells her whats up, unless he lacks nuts and a spine.

My bitch knows whats up.

If you ask her who wears the pants, she answers he does without thinking.

It should be more like Maturity or Immaturity? When you grow up you realize as long as there is mutual respect that the term "whipped" is a high school term, nobody really cares or has time to worry about that kind of stuff.

I have to disagree. Many men are completely owned by their wives. Even though you may feel to grown to use the term "whipped", it makes the term no less valid. There is a mutual respect that doesn't exist in say "highschool", but one will always wear the pants. PERIOD

YOU may think he is whipped by your standards but he may be happy in his situation. Not every marriage is the same, some people grew up with a void in their life and on some level their spouse may fill that void.

The woman who may appear to have her husband run her life may be fulfilling the void of the lack of a father figure in her life, and it gives her a sense of security.. if she has a man who wants her to be her own woman she is not happy.

Same goes for a man, some men feel a need to have a woman who has more direction or assertiveness than he, does this make him less of a man? No, because if they are both happy in love then you cannot criticize them for finding what makes THEM happy.

In every relationship there is "Balance" not "who wears the pants," The whole idea that the man must run every aspect of the relationship is chauvinist and says nothing to me but insecurity.

Sorry that not everyone is as enlightened as you are.

I guess families were doing it all wrong during the time in society where:
1. The man was the head of the household 2.The female counterpart stayed home and raised the offspring 3. Said offspring was accounted for at all times and weren't off killing or car jacking or robbing anyone. 4. Divorces weren't a common thing. People had morals and values.

Seriously, wtf were they thinking?

LOL..It's not even really about laying the law down....

Most women whether they admit it or not, want a man that can take charge.
Most women want to be checked and put in their place from time to time.
Most women will openly admit that they can't and will not respect a man that they can run over continually.
Most women want to feel secure and that their mate can protect them.

I've had this dicussion several times with a bunch of different girls and the reaction is always the same....

While I agree that during every situation one or the other must take charge and "handle it", there is no absolute answer to the age old puzzle of just who wears the pants if you get down to brass tax.

Like Tony said, some people are perfectly happy with being "whipped" while some others would rather hit their balls with a rubber hammer than to ACT "whipped". Men have to be men and women have to be women, no doubt about that in my book, but you also can't treat REAL women like they're animals either. Hate to tell yall, but even submissive women will stick it to you, in the back if they have to but they will IF you treat them like dog crap all the time.

Another thing to remember is that some of you, especially the younger ones, have the wrong idea of what "whipped" really is. Opening a door for your lady, being nice to her, and consulting her on some decisions is NOT being "whipped". Some of you think that anytime you act nice you are acting "whipped", but that's not the case at all. So you can beat on your chest all you want, but the truth is that if you treat your women/girls the way some of you ACT like you do, it's no wonder why you spend more time with Rosy and her 4 sisters than you do with a real woman. ;)

I have to say that, for the most part, my man treats me like a queen. He is not dominant or outspoken and I do not consider him a wimp. I, on the other hand, am. It makes for a nice balance and just goes to show there is a perfect match for everyone out there. He has his ways of showing me how much of a man he is. He doesn't treat me like it's my job to take care of him, although I do. We have a partnership and we each play a role in our relationship. I think the manliest thing he does is admit his is "whipped". That shows that he is confident and secure in his love for me. That being said, I admit to my girls I am "whipped" when they holler it because I still run to the phone when Dan calls even after 7 years :)

whipped is such a black/white term.

it's an equilibrium.
i'll admit that i give my gf a lot of leway and will give her many of the things she wants. but she'll still do something if i ask her to and definitely won't disrespect me in any way.

but having mutual respect for eachother in a relationship is key. i respect my woman for what she brings to the US factor, and she respects me in the same way, given we sometimes bump heads over certain things and i vent about them to friends, we still work together for our common interests.

A lot of people don't get that. They want to act like "Me, Tarzan...you, Jane..." all the time and then wonder why they are perpetually single or paired up with a Harlet.

Listen, everyone that knows me KNOWS that I'm definetly a really firm believer in men are men and women are women. Not a metrosexual hair on my body, but that doesn't mean that you have to be a caveman and drag your woman by her hair back in the cave all the time. There will be instances from time to time where you have to have your pants in the right place and put your foot down like a man, no doubt. But far too often, especially when we're younger, men think that this testosterone display has to be done every day when in reality far too often we're just playing for the cameras.

When you get older and settle down with someone, you realize that not everything is WWIII and therefore doesn't require you to fire off your nuclear tantrums. This realization goes a long way in avoiding those stupid fights that start from something simple and then morphs into WWIII. Trust me, there are only a handful of situations where true WWIII tactics need to be put in place. What happens is that most of us get worked up and blow that preverbial mountain out of a mole hill and spin a regular disagreement into a break-up only to protect our pride or for the simple and idiotic satisfaction of being "right".

My grandpa once told me, "Never ask a man without a pole nor bait about fishing.";) So look at folks that have successful long term relationships, be it with significant other and/or friends, as beacons to learn from. Hollywood and wannabes are not the best teachers. ;)

You my friend are a dumbass. I think what has happened is that women are actually sort of standing up for themselves now and realize they deserve to do whatever they want to with their life. Not how you are describing, where women are expected to stay at home, raise the kids, and not have a career.

I'd much rather have things the way they are today.
