CRX d16z6 swap w/pics

So me and 2 buddies finally got around to putting this lil vtec machine in my DD. The day started kind of good "weather was a lil rainy but alright for the most part. We went to the automotive hobby shop and i rented out a lift and we the fun was underway........................ :goodjob:

after dropping the d15 out we went into preparing the new COMPETITION CLUTCH STAGE 4 CLUTCH KIT, as well as removing the engine harnesses and.................well prepping for the most part, all in all it took us about 2.5 hrs to drop the motor, and we was kind of slacking and :blah:

one of the last few steps before putting her back in, was installing the Competition Clutch stage 4 kit


But as luck would have it we got everything done except switching the injectors, wiring up the hondata, and wiring the obd0-obd1 stuff before we ran out of time :cry:

tommorrow ill clean up the bay and put a temporary intake on herwould have done more but it was raining and we was :yes: HUNGRAY :yes:

it took us a total of about 7 hrs to do everything and it was pretty damn fun, this week we will be...........

1. relocating the battery

2. installing turbo kit

3. welding custom turbo back exhaust


Anyway thought id post on how my lil DD is coming along, the goal for the car is just to see 220-230Hp out of it nothing crazy just a fun lil pocket rocket. As for how i feel about the new motor its definitly a step up from the d15 and im loving it :goodjob: ill post up again once the turbo kit makes it way on this week. and heres a quick peek at it "i know ive posted it before" but here is a pic of us test fitting the turbo kit on the block and painting it for those who haven't seen it.

Competition Clutch for getting me clutch kit i needed in a great amount of time :goodjob: There clutchs are of the highest quality iive seen, this is the second clutch kit ive ordered from them and i recommend anyone to give them a call for your clutch needs.

sorry for the late response guys im out here in hawaii 5hrs behind ya'll. But thanks for all the compliments if your about to do thise swap make sure to check out rywire.com for there obd0-obd1 harness they have it makes the wiring part alot easier and cleaner. But i love to learn and this was definitly a big learning experience and it was fun.

Nice work, i remember renting bays out on base when i was growing up. Nothing beats $3 hr an all the tools and lifts you can use :)

yeah we swapped the d16 trans cause it was hydro and stuck with the d15 trans and competition clutch setup, long gears but still fun. and we only paid 18 bucks and had that lift for a hot minute man you cant beat it 3 bucks a hour and any tool you want at your figure tips :goodjob:

still not bad military pays way less for gas on base then the local economy does off post :goodjob:

i think it's around 10-15 cents more there but you gotta remember that the gas lasts longer because everything is closer together so the price really doesn't effect you as much as you would think
