Do any of you guys watch it? I love watching that show.. Last night Jay Leno drove in the ZR-1 and the winner gets serial nbr 001 off the assembly line.. the paint is $60,000 a gallon... the winner bid 1,000,000 ... it was awesome!

correction.... there is an ADDITIVE in the paint that is 60g's a gallon. cause think... if it was 60k/gal the car wouldnt have sold for less than 200k
edit: it wouldn'tve sold for less than $200k NEW aka off the showroom floor

This will not be a color sold, It is that blue one they have as the prototype, and the guy who won the auction will get a one off of that color as serial #0001. They said the color it self was 60k a gallon, so I dunno, But he will be the only one to get that color other than the prototype.

It was just after the auction for the Miami Vice Movie boat and trailer and H2 all as a package.
I about fell off the bed when they rolled the ZR-1 up, because I was yelling to leisa to come in the room and see it, and I was saying to her "How are they selling the '09 ZR-1 already??" then they said the one on stage was just the prototype and not the one being sold, the winner would get to come watch his get built and even be the first one to put the key in and start it in the line

They had a 1 off Cobra KR (2008) with a all glass rook, was pretty hot, Carol Shelby Signed it and the proceeds was all going to charity, It sold for $600k

I watched as much as I could the past week. I hope I can go to one some year, and buy a car. They had over 100 cars that sold for $25K or less.

Yeah they had some amazing cars this year but the ZR-1 to me was the biggest suprise and hottest thing they sold.

They replay it throughout the year. But they will have another one in West Palm Beach in March, and one in Las Vegas in October.

I watch it, even though it blasts the price of cars up. It's a bunch of rich people showing everyone how rich they are :) which, don't gwt me wrong, if I was rich I would do te same :D

No sir, this is the 2009 ZR-1 Prototype they had and that one and the one the guy bid on will be the only 2 in that color, for 1,000,000 he better bet that 60k a gallon color...LOL

The car was tax deductible over the sticker value as all of its profits were for charity. Essentially the high bidder will get his money back, as he raised his $900,000 bid to 1 mil.

Only some. Probably around 35%-40% of the 900,000. Depends on what tax bracket this guy is in.

This show makes me want to resort to a life of crime. I figured that'll be the only way for me to get the fast $ I need to participate in the auction. It's that darn fear of prison that keeps me legit

The credit card company I used to work for would finance some people who purchased lower priced cars there. I used to talk to some of the people who bought and sold cars through it.
