I know this isnt new to anyone here, but there are some really good pictures and some good information in this thread. I think it is funny reading the replys of some of these mustang guys. I myself am a mustang guy, but I give respect where it is due, and this car def. deserves it.

They're not all bad on that forum, but they still have a bunch of brand-loyal ******ry.

Yeah, but its funny how a lot of them are completely ignoring the Tsubaka time and going straight to the "13 maybe even 14sec 1/4mi. times". I am defenately an american muscle fan, but like i was saying, I give respect where it is due, and by looking at the track times, this car deserves respect.

lol one of them said that they bet the price will be $40k. The "mugen" si we get here in the use sells for almost that.... I bet it will be $60k or more.

Haha This is my favorite quote...

so now civics come with unmatched body panels from the factory? thats awsome! saves ricers the hassle of doing it themselves!!!

i could see a EV0 or something with that much CF being cool but a CIVIC? come on....

thats funny .... i had to leave that forum b4 i got myself in trouble .. hate people like that ... saying thats not a honda its a MUGEN .... wow ok first off mugen isnt a car company ( idiots) and look at the shelby cobra .... yea it was fast ... yea it stopped on a dime .... do you see EVERY FORD DOING that ?????? i dont see every 4 banger mustang or v6 mustang doing that .... Y not ???????? lol they can keep the american POS ... chevy = made in canada ... so ford and the rest must be made in Mexico eh ./.. GTFO somewhere . every one has there taste .. id much rather have 260 hp and 173 Lb of torque and maybe 28-35 MPG than 1-8 mpg for 400HP .... so yea .. no offense to people who drives ford and chevy ... but i like imports and not RICED ... :goodjob:

Its so ugly lol. they could have at least painted the carbon fiber to match. plus like someone said our mugen is pushing 40k, so this will be around 50+. do you know what you could get for 50k lol that would outhandle this thing on a track/strip/street.

uhhhh not much would out handle it on the track. As for the strip, mugen doesn't give a **** about 1/4 mile times. That car was specifically designed to be a tsukuba time attack car. As for the street, a 260hp civic would probably give most anything under $50k with a decent run. At about 2550lbs, that car has a power to weight ratio of 9.8lb/hp. At 3600 lbs, a 2007 mustang GT has 12lb/hp. A STI has a curb weight of 3200lbs, which puts it at qround 10.67lb/hp. A 2007 vette has a curb weight of 3240lbs. With 400hp, it has about 8.2lbs/hp.

So there's pretty much nothing under $50k that will lap tsukuba faster than this car. It ran the track in 1min 06.6 sec, only about 15 seconds slower than the all time lap record, which was set by an all out race car. Hell even the power house Amuse 2008 Nissan GTR was only 4 seconds faster. The stock GTR was only about 2.5 seconds faster. A Porsche 997 Turbo laps in 1 min 04.730 secs, and a Murcielago laps 1 min 04.760 secs. You see what I'm getting at?

lol do some research before you make comments.

There are quite a few cars that could beat it for the price around a track. your only stating one track. Maybe its fast on ONE track doesnt make it a track god. Take that car to the track that matters....u know which one. :goodjob:

i think the main argument/joke here is that its 50 thousand dollars for a HONDA! holy fuk. r u kidding me?

Who gives a **** about Tsukuba times? We don't have Tsukuba here. Not like any of the people on here track their cars anyway,

The tsukuba times were just to show a comparison between the mugen RR and other cars. Most people on here don't track their cars because for one thing it's expensive, and for another thing, a track car usualy doesn't make a very good street car. BTW, there are quite a few people on here who track their cars.

the NSX was a $100k honda. The Honda NSX-R GT was $450k. A $50k honda probably sounds like a lot here in the US, but in japan, it would not be that abnormal. I never said it was a track god, but if it's fast on one track, logically it would be fast on most other road courses. The tsukuba is to japan what the nurburgring is to germany. The car manufacturers test their cars there to see where they stand against other cars. I'm sure you could take the mugen RR to road america or road atlanta and it would run great times there too.

Oh, and what NEW car for under $50k do you think would beat this car around a track?

I'm not saying that $50k+ for a honda is a good or fair price, even if it is only 2 seconds slower than the new nissan GTR. I'm just stating the facts to show that there is a reason for the $50k price tag. Would I buy one? Probably not. For $50k I would most likely buy something else.

I actually love that civic, but it is too expensive. Some of the statements on that SVT forum piss me off though. I mean, I'm not too fond of civics, but give credit where it's due. That Civic is Amazing.
