i have a old dell dimension 4100 desktop computer. i wanted to know what can i do to speed up its performance and memory. i tried installing a 512mb of ram chip but it said my system will not support it. i need to make this computer capable of supporting cubase 4 recording software and reason 3.0 and be able to have multiple programs open and running without any issue of slowing down or freezing up. right now it wont run acid pro and thats pretty sad. help :)

You'd probably be better off buying a new one for real. For the cost of "upgrading" the one you have now, you'd almost spend enough for a newer computer. Later, QD.

I Use It, ITS VERY GOOD! Delete Some Start Up Things That You Dont Need.
(Quick Time, AIM, Ect) So It Wont Take A Long Time For The Desktop To Load When You Start Up

Jan 01 is pretty damn old. p3 is ancient history. You could build a new rig for cheap these days.

Probably the power supply. I know you'll have the change the board.
