    Default computer upgrade questions

i have a old dell dimension 4100 desktop computer. i wanted to know what can i do to speed up its performance and memory. i tried installing a 512mb of ram chip but it said my system will not support it. i need to make this computer capable of supporting cubase 4 recording software and reason 3.0 and be able to have multiple programs open and running without any issue of slowing down or freezing up. right now it wont run acid pro and thats pretty sad. help

You'd probably be better off buying a new one for real. For the cost of "upgrading" the one you have now, you'd almost spend enough for a newer computer. Later, QD.
