Well, I seem to have been fated with the smallest trunk of any pre-'80 GM car. Worsening the situation, with the size of the box that I am running, the only place for me to put it results in a lot of wasted trunk space. My plan is to build a box that tucks into the inside of my quarter panel to one side of the trunk and to mount the amps into a small recession in my floor pan (where the box is currently sitting). I'd post pics, but it is entirely to dark to take any right now. I'm happy with how the system sounds now (aside from some rattles because I'm not running any sound dampener), but the would be the first box that I have built and it's planned location really inhibits using a port or vent. My question is, would my Type-R still sound good in a sealed box? The reason I ask is because I have heard from several people that the box can really make or break how this sub sounds. I've also heard that to run the Type-R in a sealed box it is best to go with 800+ RMS. I am currently running 600RMS. I can easily get ahold of an MRP-M850 amp at a good price but it won't sit in the location that I would like to mount the amps, but I would make an amp rack if I need to to get the sound I want. I'm currently pushing the sub with an MRP-M650 amp.
