Food for thought. If you have a church in a rural town and you bring in 2k a month which is a small percentage of whats given at your parish (lets say 10% for the pastor) for the offering to pay for lights and air conditioning and the pastors family then you are not shady.

If you take the same percentage (10%) as your church grows and grows and grows and pretty soon you have millions of dollars using the same formula BUT NOT taking more from your patrons, whats wrong with that?

I'm not saying they are into something they shouldnt be, I dont know all of their business I'm just saying you dont know what they did to make that church what it is. They have 5k + people in their congregations so I think if they are being straight with what their fair cut is I dont see what the big deal is about. They should be paid well.

Funny - I have seen the Brat, Evander Holyfield, and hundreds of other celebs fund his message. Not my place to judge him. There is nothing "cultish" about his message, i will say that. Copeland owns his own airport, used to be a military base... and Creflo congregation has a dome that will rival a pro football stadium. I heard about this. There are several other minister of "mega churches" under this investigation, including several pastors/ministors in the mid west.

One of the things I heard senator Chuck Grassley say that stood out in my mind is, one of these pastors/ministers (I believe he was referring to Creflo Dollar) had a $20,000 marble toilet in his house. That is ridiculous! Many of the members of these churches may not make $20,000 a year. I'm sure it'll be justified by some mindless sheep, just as they justify the private jets & $100,000 cars.

First of all, TD Jakes is for sure not one of these people who beg for money.
Him and Jentzen Franklin are my all time favorite pastors. Love them!

Yeah, some of the pastors are 'loaded'. It's a big church, it's gonna happen. I feel compelled, not because of my preacher, but because of my faith that I need to tithe 10 % of my paycheck to my church. The church I attend only has around 300 people and I can tell you right now, my pastor isn't hurting. But all aspects of the church are being taken care of also. So I can imagine that a huge church like Creflo's is going to help take care of the funds even more (granted their are bigger bills to pay also). However, if he is using the churchs share, then their is a problem.

I do think God tests some people though. Which is hard, but He can help you perservere. Look at Job (in the bible)... He had EVERYTHING taken away from him (even his kids died). His wife told him to "curse God and die" but he didn't... He was miserable for weeks on end. But he stuck with it, praising God thru it all and what did God do? He gave it back to him 'ten fold'. There were several men in the bible that were wealthy so we can't say that it's not necessarily of God.

I'm not taking sides... If he is in the wrong, he needs to be punished. I'm just simply saying that probably not every pastor who has a Benz is necessarily in the wrong.

My experience with church (especially the black church) has been nothing but a big popularity contest .ANd IMO Pastors that ride around balling out of control are they most popular. And that sends the wrong message. Every kid I know that wants to be a pastor, wants to be one "Beacuse they get paid."
